Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I have just returned from my second airbrush tanning salon trip for my golden summer glow.. and had to drive an hour from my home cause noone in my area offers such a service other than the booths.. I would LOVE to open up my own strictly airbrush tanning salon in Mercer County, NJ. The place I went to today only did airbrush tanning for $35 a session.. What are the set up fees other than leasing that is needed for this? Is there training or some sort of certificate I can go for in my area? What is the normal monthly costs to run such a business? Bottom line, can a strictly airbrush tanning salon work? |

Because my "office" is out of my home, I am able to write off quite a bit at home. I am also able to write off a lot regarding my car (registration, insurance, mileage, etc. ). My clients LOVE the flexibility of my schedule. I am available when they need me, not when a salon is open. I can choose which days to work, and which days I need off. I am busy year round. Plus I can tan myself for free whenever I choose! Because I am in So. Cal. I have some high profile clients, and they love that they can be discreet about tanning, and not have to go to a salon. They can tan in the privacy of their own home. You are welcome to PM me if you'd like. I can give you more info on start up you'd like. Everyone told me the business wouldn't work.... they were wrong |

Fortunatley I had a great girl working for me who took care of everything. You will not get rich though! Like the earlier post said, it is very seasonal and you will have a ton of one time clients. You should be able to build a good client base as long as you are good and treat everyone right. The girl who bought my salon from me was the one who worked there for me, and she now has about 250 clients for ABT and about 100 for Massage Therapy. The biz grossed 79,000 the first year it was open, and this was 85% ABT. Low costs, just a few guns and compressors, and you can buy the solution really cheap now. One gallon should tan about 45 clients, based on their size. 35 bucks per-that's 1,575 gross per gallon, and the gallon of solution will cost about 75-100 dollars. Good Luck!!!!!!! |
