What is the worst problem you could have with a tanning salon? Could that be electrical problems at the busiest hour in season? We had a melt down today!! We had to close early today because one of our meters on the side of the building totally burned out!!! Luckily, I have two meters and we were able to bypass the one meter and run part of the salon. This was crazy!! We had to turn down a lot of people to tan. Then, when I called the landlord and told him what was going on, he became very defensive and said well, what do you want me to do?? He further explained that he wasn't paying for it and he was contacting his attorney and told me to read my lease. A total jerk! He didn't even say, gosh sorry that happened I will come down there and see what I can do.
This building is older and really not up to code electrical wise and frankly I think it is his problem. We did have all of our work inspected by the city inspector when we did the buildout and with our new expansion and we got a green tag. Sorry this is long, but I am really upset over this. We just expanded and tanning 95 a day and poof a wall came up!!

If your meter burned out, its not you or the landlords problem. Call the electric company as they are the ones that own the electric meter.

Update!! Actually the electric company said it was the meter base that burned up and not the meter. They own the meter and the meter base is part of the building. Our so called landlord, says he is not paying for nothing and it is our problem. We had it all rewired, no thanks or help to him. We had to, so we can keep going. All I can say is, "What goes around comes around" He is a jerk and time will tell. We are doing the right thing and I really wish more people would do that.
