Vaseline was a huge no-no with my A/b....u need some spray to penetrate, vaseline allows none and shows hard lines..

If the client is sure to apply vaseline only to the nail and not the skin surrounding the nail, vaseline does fine. I've been using this with my clients and have had no problems.

Vaseline melts, very fast runs all over......what about areas that need to be covered(dry, knees, elbow, ankles) you need the proper lotion for that. don't go cheap, tick off your clients and gves a bad name for all. Try lotions meant for that, not 2.99 vaseline, pay a few $$$ for Norvell, breeze, what ever works for u...

Really, ladybug? I have been using Vaseline Intensive Care with Aloe for the past year on those areas and have had no complaints about any of the dry areas. I have my clients use petrolium jeplly on their nails and bottoms of feet, and have had no complaints of the jelly "running" or "melting" (and I am on the Gulf Coast of Texas where temperatures reach nearly 100F in the summer!) I have found these to be so much better than those thicker barrier creams that can leave too much cream and create too much of a barrier, thus leaving a flawed application.

I know what I am doing, my clients are still coming back (therefore, I must assume that they are pleased), and I feel that I represent my community of aibrushing just fine.[ This Message was edited by: Chrstie Lacy on 2005-03-26 15:52 ]

what about the nail covers? I usually put the cream on my nails and I usually have a french manicure and I have not had a problem.

Good for u Christie Lacey, I too have tried to skimp on costs, I on the other hand have not experienced your same results, Plus the barrier cream that i used on the 1050 people this past year is cheaper than Vaseline. I also use regular tanning in my salon, which I have educated my clients to ban vaseline out of their regimen as it affects their tanning results....
