I feel like we are using too much solution for our air brush tans. We are using a hospital HVLP compressor an artists air brush, and Norvell solution . It looks like we are using about 4-5 oz. per customer. Also, it takes our girl here about 30 minutes to spray a customer. Do our quantities sound normal and does her time seem normal? Thanks.

With what you have that sounds about right. There are other units that use a little less and are done within 5-10 minutes.

Use search to find the threads for this.

You should use no more than 3oz per client. If she is using more then that either
a: she is using way to much or
b: the gun is not right for the application and there is way tooo much overspray.
also if she is using too much on a person then they may turn orange and will have very poor fading.
With a true-hlvp gun it should take no more than 5 minutes to spray a person.

I haven't ever used more than 2.5 ounces on any client, and I've sprayed some LARGE clients! Lisa's correct...there's something wrong...most likely too much overspray.

I agree with the last 2.
Between 2 and 3 oz. is plenty. Our HVLP systems waste very little as there is basically no overspray(clouded air).

I always advise people not to "MickeyMouse" a system. They usually end up costing more than buying a new system from a good dealer in the long run.
