lilgator, I opted for airbrush because of cost and space. We have been doing it for almost 2 years, have a decent business with it and it is a good ROI. The only problem is that I am tired of doing it. It is labor intensive in that I have to have someone else work the desk so I can do the airbrush so I usually schedule them before or after my shift for the day and try to schedule 2 or 3 in the same time frame. The thing is that by the time I have worked 8 -10-12 hours, I really don't want to be there another hour or two doing airbrushing and cleaning up. I have had a couple of other employees who did some of it in the past but they are no longer with me. I am still trying to decide what to do for this season to eliminate the hassle. I DO love the results and have many repeat customers who I enjoy seeing again and again. I do a good job and it isn't that I mind doing it, it is just hard in the scheduling department. Most people want it done in the evening so they can shower it off first thing in the morning. With a booth, some of those concerns would be eliminated. Lots of people I have airbrushed have had a bad sunless booth experience. I don't believe this is the fault of the booths most of the time. I think other salons are not educating there staff on how to sell and teach the use of the booths. One customer had never been to a booth....they took her money, offered a minimal, fast explanation and pointed down the hall to where the booth was. She came to me with streaks and orange hands and feet and wanted me to fix it. Again, I believe a lot of that responsibility rests on the owner and employee and not necesarily the booth but it is common here. The advantage to a booth is that it is always ready and, other than good instruction, requires little employee/owner time. I am not sure what I am going to do this season because I do feel like sunless has its place in our industry but I am OLD and tired

I RESEARCHED THEM ALL "AIRBRUSH" ALL THE WAY. I CHARGE $45.00 PER SESSION AND I AIRBRUSH ABOUT 15-20 PEOPLE A WEEK. HONESTY!! I HAVE SOLTRON BEDS, AND I BUY EXPENSIVE AIRBRUSH SOLUTION OUT OF MO. LA POINTE GOLD. I TRULY FEEL THAT IT'S NORMAL, IT'S A SPA SERVICE, AND IF YOU COULD HANDLE THE AMOUNT OF DIFFERENT BODIES,(HAHA) YOU WILL BE VERY, VERY SUCCESSFUL. I MAKE THE MOST PROFIT MARGIN ON AIRBRUSH TANNING. I AM ALSO GOING TO BE AT OUR COUNTY'S BRIDAL SHOWCASE AS THE FEATURED VENDOR JUST FOR AIRBRUSHING. ANYTHING PLEASE ASK. I DO NOT FEEL THAT THE SPRAY BOOTHS ARE CRACKED UP TO BE WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE. THEY'RE CONVENIENT AND PRIVATE, BUT FOR A TANNING BUSINESS, AIRBRUSH TANNING ALL THE WAY
