You must be using a backdrop with a filter unit. Otherwise, you'll have solution all over the walls and eventually over the entire salon.

Wanna do sunless? If a booth is in your budget and you can actually pay for it, then definitely do it, but if you have a limited budget, then airbrush it the way to go.

~waiting, waiting~ Oh! The Phone!

"Why yes I am interested in saving on my long distance charges! Veeerry interested!"

We also have spray, and the previous owner has them in his other salons. The MiracleMist has built in filtration, so there is nothing on the salon walls. We just painted a light color, so we would see the bronze quickly if it were. We paid in the mid-$20s (thousand) range. Be ready to negotiate and don't pay retail for your booth. Being at a show helps, if you can wait.

The new Miracle's have the built in filtration and a foot wash to minimize accumulation on the feet. We had several people a day asking, so we had good turnout without advertising it. As a new owner, it was actually the very first thing we did because each and everytime we were at the salon doing "due diligence", we saw customers leaving who asked for UV free.

As stated, it'll be diferent in every market. Based on feedback on here, most owners seem to state they pay for themselves by the end of the first season. I can't attest to that, firsthand, yet though...

We currently have only 15 people at this location on an unlimited mist-on membership (this location is only a month old), and we sell an average of 4-4 4mist session packages per day, and about 5 or 6 single session mists per day as well. So it's a going concern out here. At the other stores mist-on is about an 85k-100k moneymaker and we're expecting that much, if not more here.

Sunless booths can make you money if there is a market for them. The manufacturer of the booth is not always the main issue. Keep in mind that the cost of the booth is relative to the quality, advertising, and always what the manufacturer thinks they can get out of you or what the market will bear.

I you like a certain manufacturer, still take the opportunity to look at the other booths. It is the same as beds. There are many ou there and each has a feature that will appeal to your needs. Don't pick one because your neighbor has one. You may be surprised to hear thet your neighbor got a great deal on a piece of plastic that needs weelky adjustments to work.

Be a smart shopper.

Is that a dig at the blue box?. There's two types of sunless equipment, the one that created this whole market, and the wanna be's. But I agree, you do need to look around and understand the differences so you can let the prospects know.

I'd venture to say that if you are only getting 1 or 2 a day for the spray booth,,,than you are not a marketing genius...You have to advertise if you ever want to draw customers to your establishment....That is our competitive advantage...The other salons in the area for some reason or another must have all the business that they can handle...THEY JUST DON'T ADVERTISE!!!!!! This is the competition that I want!!!!!
We'll be buying their used beds soon........I LOVE IT!!!!!!

IMO you can market all you want, but if no one wants it (ie: no demand), it's fruitless.

The "Custom Spray Booth" is $18,900.00 brand new! I recommend trying the booth before you purchase. (No matter how far you have to travel)
