That is my complaint,is these uneducated high school drama queens, that run neighboring and city salons, they do not care about customer service or the quality of a tan!!! Most of the salons in town are competiing with eachother about who can sell the most minutes cheapest, or in this case who can get the tan cheapest, and quickest!!!

Ramcat, just to make sure you know, its the other salons in town that is giving this spray tan a bad name, well giving tanning a bad name all together!!! and just like Total said I would rather turn away the business from a bride that have her trying to take me to court, MHO its just not worth it, and besides there are other options!!

Total, no kidding, the stupidity of some customers has me killing myself laughing!! I tell the girls we hire, make sure you walked them through everything, show them where the start button is, and I tell the girls when taking the clients back to their room on the first visit in the salon or when they are trying a new bed, to actually close the canopy (if its manual), with some people they just don't know!!! better to be safe rather than sorry!!!!

Here's my approach for wedding parties. Preferably a couple of weeks prior we talk to the principles to reinforce their commitment and educate the process. A week before, the whole darn bunch comes in for a spray tan . The shop is booked for a private function, a couple of champagne, a cam recorder, and it's a party. At that time everyone is booked back in 2-3 days prior, individually. When they come in they get a thorough evaluation in regards to consistency, tan levels. Trouble areas are masked and they get their second tan. Everyone washes their hands after each tan, and everyone is told that they may have to do a bit of scrubbing of those dry knees and elbows to release any stubborn bronzer.

Most important issues is to discuss the process with the wedding party before hand. It is always better to have a few days before the wedding to ensure the end results are perfect (or at lease acceptable).
However, you still you need to talk to these people.

MiracleMist is water based too. I tanned with it a couple of days and and wore a white T-shirt the next day. I guess what I need to do is purposely get a ton on my clothes and see how well it comes out. We tell our customers to expect a little run-off the very first time they shower. However, none after that. I even spray tanned two days in a row to see what would happen. Same thing, it ran off the third day (morning after 2nd spray), and no visible run-off. I would say, though, that spraying twice in a 3 day period is not advisable. Maybe it was just me, but it didn't look right in certain places (e.g. where I shave on my face). We also try to combine it with a HP session because the skin pores are more open. The only downside to that is people complain they get too dark, too fast in some cases (some people consider this a bad thing )

Ramcat, ok I don't understand why I have to talk to these people, I am not the one misinforming customers about tanning, I do however correct any info about tanning that is wrong, I am trying my best to educate my clients.

Johnny, what I do if my clients get on their clothes defenitly DO NOY DRY YOUR CLOTHES!!!! get some spot remover and you have to wash clothes that have DHA on them like a million times to get that brown look out, especialy if it white clothes, I have yet to get my white tank tops back to white, the straps are all yellow/orange kinda colour and on the inside of the front and back is the same kinda of yellow/orange gross colour!!!! This stuff is a PAIN to get out, but eventaully it will come out.

Hot, you said they were friends. If that is true, you should have talked to them before letting them get tanned. At least give them the straight poop before anyone else can feed them just poop.

DHA is colorless, the bronzer is the coror agent in the solution . I have never heard of it being difficult to get out. It usually washed out with water. Getting it out of wedding dresses is a little more difficult because wedding dresses are not washed or dry cleaned. They are actually steam cleaned. The beads and shuch canot be cleaned any other way. But, even with that, the bronzer comes out pretty easy.

Ok I said who were friends??? One of my friends who got married did the spray tan , I told her how to do it the proper way, and the girl at the other salon who does the spray tan told her to do it a different way, which caused her to be very unhappy and her dress ruined!!!!! I did absoulty nothing wrong here, and I still don't understand why I have to talk to these people, my own friend won't listen to me about tanning, so why would anyone else!!! I wasn't talking about wedding dresses getting DHA on them, I was talking about clothes in general!!!! I have one **** of a time getting it all out!!!!

Yes, no !!! someone help me out on the clear solution please!!!

Chill...No one is accusing you of doing anything wrong. If you tried to give out the correct information, then you did the best you could. I am sure the comments were just that. Comments from those of us that do alot of spray tanning and wanted to pass on information. I still do not know why there is a problen getting out the bronzer, but I suppose there are many bronzers out there with different chemicals in them that would make it difficult to get out.

Sorry if you were offended.

Sorry...lol just some grumpy clients, and I posted right after they left...sorry Ram, anyways the problem with the bronzers then, is they aren't using the products how they are supposed to!!! Or they are using a very cheap cheap product. I ahve no idea, but the girls I ahve talked to say that brozers are very hard to get out, I dunno maybe its the water here or something!!! and yes the information has helped me and my clients out very much!!! Like I said the owners of competing salons around here don't care about the quality of a tan, all they care about is how far they can stretch their dollar. Theres only so much I can do to help I wish I could walk into other salons and just bi**h slap the owners that work there, but I can't and that wouldn't be very professinal, but hey its fun to daydream!!!!
