Have to love the HealthToad people they have found a way to attack their own industry
(sunless) by saying the solution is toxic? If one is toxic all are toxic they all have DHA. Unbelieveable that they are trying this. Same delivery system as HT booth spray on wipe in. It's the worst application system on the market. Sunless sloution is not toxic in any way shape or form. Can't wait till some poor salon owner tries to tell the media that there solution is different because it dosent caues "fumes". DW...Glad to see you having fun, thats what its all about. |

Jeni and Mike--What sunless unit do you market? You surely must be in the business because you know it all. I'm not saying this to be critical. It seems that you have all the answers to everybody questions and could be classified as experts. You're right DHA is in all the solutions, maybe it's the delivery system that's toxic. Like I said don't knock until you've tried it.

The delivery system with a compressor causes concern as toxic fumes and vapors are emitted and build-up inside the booth without any ventilation. This can cause difficulty in breathing and affect the entire respiratory system. Why do you need to hold your breath during the spray mode?
Why is the FDA revamping their guidelines and making manufacturers comply with stringent new regulations on spray tanning and delivery systems. The major manufacturers are redesigning their systems to meet FDA compliance and some are using pump motors to dipense the solutions so there is no risk of toxic fumes and vapors to breathe in. HealthTan has a delivery system whereby no toxic vapors are emitted and comply to the new standards. They are A few steps ahead and have a unique system which delivers great tans |

What difference would holding your breath make if the chamber is full of supposedly "toxic" fumes? How can the fumes be toxic if the solutions are all natural? Can you cite any studies? The FDA didn't start snooping until Magic Tan hit the market. Go figure. You can't see your hand in front of your face in that thing during a session. Anyway, I hope Health Tan is the Holy Grail for all the non-believers. BTW, if you condense water with a compressor and spray at say, I don't know, an musement park maybe, does that combination also produce toxic fumes? Good luck everybody.

HealthToads,
Where do you get this bull, stating that the FDA is revamping their guidelines and making manufacturers comply with stringent "new regulations"? This is totally false. The FDA has made no “regulations” period concerning sunless spray booths, they have made a statement “recommended” that ALL clients being SPRAYED with any DHA product not let it come in contact with their mucus membranes. This includes the HealthToad Booth. This Thread has gone far enough, now you are stating out and out falsehoods. And yes I have tried the system, along with HT, Sun Spritz and Miracle Mist. All use a similar method. Spray body rub in mist. However they are not foolish enough to make false claims about the FDA and sunless solutions. Quote:The delivery system with a compressor causes concern as toxic fumes and vapors are emitted and build-up inside the booth without any ventilation This is nothing but false. There is not one sunless booth on the market that does not have a ventilation system. The HealthToads need to do more research before they make themselves look anymore silly than they already do. Whoopee you have a not so new spray booth to sell. Do a tad more research into your business and your competitor’s equipment before you make a fool of your self. I am a salon owner, who is not fond of anybody telling me I am letting my client’s breath toxic fumes. Our booth has ventilation and we provide out clients with nose filters, eye protection and disposable garments if they so choose. Why? Because the FDA “recommended” that clients should ask for protection in ALL spray booths even the HealthToad unit. Not because there are any regulations what so ever that MAKES us do so. _________________ Jeni quit being silly..... This is the truth...
Quote:In the summer of 2003, the FDA responded to an inquiry on the use of DHA in spray-on tanning and concluded that when applying DHA sunless products in a spray or mist it may be difficult to avoid exposure to eyes, lips or guard against accidental inhalation of the tanning mist. Consequently, they issued a recommendation for consumers to use protective coverings over those areas. _________________ Jeni quit being silly.....[ This Message was edited by: Jeni and Mike on 2005-05-16 09:27 ] |

Thank you Jeni for posting the truth!!! I think everyone should be very careful about the things they say online as for it will stay FOREVER. If it is not fact you should honestly think twice before posting it. These type of post start bad rumors that can really hurt people and I can not express enough the importance of stating fact.
Please know that what you are saying is true before you say it. If you are posting something that you have heard thru the grapevine PLEASE take the time to confirm its true before posting it. We can not build a worthy industry professional website on gossip, rumors, or twisted up facts. That is very un healthy for the this website and our industry as a whole.
