Looking for info on spray booths, NOT airbrush. Looking for good or bad about any booth you have. Not looking for I heard this or I heard that. Want to hear directly from people that are useing booths now. Any help would be appreciated.

We are not using an overspray booth. I would like to add one if it was a nice enough looking unit, to give the airbrush tanning a little more professional look. I am also tired of the mist getting all over my floors and walls. We use a large paper sheet behind our customers, but to be honest, it dosn't have a very professional look.

I don't have a spraybooth either. I will give you a little info, based on what I have seen and discerned.
1. They are still overpriced. 2. There are too many downsides to them.(if you pay 20 to 30K for a machine) you don't want it to have many negatives. 3. The quality from airbrushing is the same or better than the booths. 4. About 2/3 of the people we airbrush, don't like it enough to do it very regularly. |

I would stick with the leaders - Magictan and Mystic. I would advise that you find both of these booths in your area and try them. I know you can find a Magictan booth in your area by going to their website www.magictancorp.com and click on "find a salon".
I think mystic has the same thing. If a spray booth company does not list their salons on their website, I would steer clear. |

Ok, here's my 2 cents, and no, I don't sell booths.
Two classes of booths; electrostatic and non. Electrostatics create a more even application but have higher cost. With that cost comes extra market awareness (branding). There's only one unit using electrostatics currently so nothing to compare. In the none electrostatic devices the object is to overcome uneveness of delivery. Many configurations have been implemented but the difficulties remain. You can enter into comparisons of these latter units, but it's a moot point. Your decision is simple electro of not. If not, you do have choice, but it is largely a matter of sales' skill/technique. Sound like I'm pushing Mystic?, only 'cause it's a proven performer. |
