Rep Power: 22 | anyone know where you can get these cheaper? I have customers requesting them. i get them from MagicTan but they are charging $1. a piece for disposable little things, should be getting 10 of them for that price. Its bad enough telling people they are $1. never mind trying to make any kind of profit on them. Anywhere to get them in bulk? |

Rep Power: 23 | It would appear that Magic Tan decided THEY needed the profit margin bj ---- sadly, this product is probably made for .5 Cents .... and it is necessary to use their booth within legally approved limits - - I would think Magic Tan (or whoever you buy your solution from) should provide a supply of Nose Filters with each jug..... Looking at the future of Sunless claims ~ this would actually give THEM a better stance legally...... There should be no need to use the nose filter as a tool to make a profit for either the salon owner or the mfg of sunless stuff..... but that's just me ~ I don't sell eyewear either - we provide it. |

Rep Power: 29 | Yeah that is total bs. I'm SO GLAD I never went the route of the spray booth. They can be good but this is just nuts. They rush out a product before it's even given the ok and now the people are forced to buy nose plugs for a dollar? What? What's this? "I don't sell eyewear either - we provide it." I got SLAMMED for saying that eyewear shouldn't be a major money maker as it's more of a safety concern. SLAMMED you know where. That hurt. |

Rep Power: 23 | Engfant ~ I am the FIRST to advise anyone that when it comes to Customer Service I can't be beat... But I am not the BEST business person.... I have a friend that told me he makes in excess of 8K a year on Eye protection sales..... That is not ching you would step over if it was laying in the street ---- but.... And how about that guy that sells the wet wipes for make up removal at a $1 per??? Again ~ I provide that for free and it it costs me about 300$ a year to supply em..... He is WEALTHY ~ ~ but...... We all have to do what we are comfortable with.... we insiste that eye wear is used as part of membership - - and we provide fully sanitized goggles(Cal Tan Peepers) for their use... I feel it's part of the fee that I charge when providing the tanning service.... As far as SAFETY goes...... as it would be illegal to provide the service of spray tanning without the safety measures for blocking inhalation ~ I personally think that the provider of the service should be providing the filters..... and if the MFGs were smart ~ they would be providing the filters TO THE SALONS with the instructions they should be given to EACH client prior to service... But in reality - - - there are some $$$$ Smart people and then there are just us Customer Serivce focused people.... BTW - who slammed ya? |

Rep Power: 29 | I don't remember BUT they claimed to be pulling in like $2-3000 in eyewear sales a MONTH and getting like $1.25 for winkees and like $6 for peepers (just a ballpark) and I basically responded the way you did. Customer service #1. They responded with $2-3000 in eyewear sales putz. That's how. (something to that effect). Screw em when you can. I look at it as, "if these customers go ANYWHERE else and see that they can get it for cheaper or NOT WEAR ANY AT ALL, I'm gunna look like a **** for RIPPING THEM OFF". Also the slight possibility of being sued (not that unrealistic when we are all looked at as business owners (millionares)) tells me that in order to get to sleep at night this person has to lose her vision on her OWN dime, NOT mine. Some people have different sleeping pills. Mine is PIECE OF MIND...and maybe some sticky. |

Rep Power: 22 | i also provide eyewear free of charge. I understand the argument for both providing and selling. Providing was a choice i made on a few different factors, as well as what my competition is doing. But the eyewear is reusable. Got allot more out of your $1.00 investment in eyewear than you do for the $1.00 disposable nose plug. I would love to provide nose plugs for free, but that would cost at least $2500. a year. I sell them now for my cost, $1.00. |

Rep Power: 23 | Holy Hanna!!! I was told they were re-useable.... that the client had to replace the cotton ball inserted in each side (and of course - clean em after use) but they are only a 1 time use??? That is complete and utter BullSH*T!!!! And not only that - but the MFGS are guilty of preying on a safety feature to dig more money out of the salon owners and the end users.... no better than the SunScare folks out there bumping up the prices on 50 SPFs.... BJ - do you have people 'refuse' to by the nose filters? Engfant ~ the quoted prices for eyeprotecting is by far the worst case of screwing a client I have ever seen.... and I would not be surprized if these are the same type that mark their lotions 25% ABOVE SUGGESTED msrp... and probably the same assholes that scream pretty darned loud about diversion too..... Certainly there is a MFG out there that could produce and sell protection for Sunless without screwing the population at large??? |

Rep Power: 29 | I cannot believe we live in a time where we are FORCED to sell something for COST just to be up to "code". The price per spray is getting lower and the costs are going up. I'm gunna look for that post on the eye protection. |

Rep Power: 0 | The nose filters are reusable. You just need to change the cotton inside them. I think $1 for something reusable is fine with me. They also now carry mist-free mouth filters. BTW, the last time I did a Mystic tan, they didn't offer me any proctive gear! I think Magictan is on the right track by being proactive and making these things available. |
