the same kind of sense that Asbestos makes my love..... Eat a plate of it ~ you will only chaff your *** when it's on the way out. but BREATHE any particle of it - and you are going to be dead from it. I am hoping the 'ARTIST' is joking.... (but somehow don't believe so) because this would mean she/he is providing THIS airbrush service and is still dangerously ignornant as to WHY the filter has been deemed necessary..... Too many stupid people in this industry .... and that is a FACT. The FDA only back peddled this quickly on their DHA APPROVAL once they discovered that the inhalation studies were (missing/never done) and that the MFGS were setting the stage for the FDA to be legally responsible for health claims and not them. The STUDIES promised by the Big WIGS in our industry??? Guess where they are??? THEY QUIETLY decided to not do em.... until FORCED to do em.... which shows me what I've known all along - - - the RESULTS would SHUT THIS DHA BIZ down quicker than crack will kill a ho. AND - salon owners are NOT demanding the results of those promised studies.... Which shows me again - - that there are TOO many stupid and greedy people in this industry. In order to provide DHA services via any spray method - - the FDA requires that the operator provide the information and the protection to block any entry of the chemical via mucous membranes... this would mean both for the customer and for the operator that would be in contact with the spray..... Do I think the FDA is concerned about the end users??? Nope ~ I really do think they are covering THEIR OWN CHEEKS .... but the fact remains - - - they found it necessary to cover em. |

What ever spray method you use is dangerous if you do not use the proper precautions! Shame on my wife! She sprayed her sisters last week without using her mask, and now is using an inhaler, and other drugs the doctor gave to her for the next month. Her symptoms were swollen throat, trouble breathing, just your typical problems that come from people that don't need twenty years to see what happens from Unprotected spraying! This was her first time spraying without her mask, and last. Our apologies, we new better. I wonder how many other people that have been sprayed without protection are walking around, and can't figure out why their springtime and summertime allergies are worst than ever before? Maybe it's that DHA POLLEN floating around in the air? Protect yourself, and your clients, provide filters, and those of you that don't think filters are necessary they also make BRAIN filters that will filter the STUPID out of you as well. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: Standby on 2004-07-18 13:42 ] |

STANDBY your post may have to be cut and pasted ALL OVER THIS PLACE as it's the first (finally) reality check for these screwball sprayers that think they are solving the world's skin cancer problems.

"Each soft plastic disposable nose unit contains a filter" those nose filters are called disposable as well. Im sure you could get more than one use out of them, but the filters get really nasty once they are wet inside. Not to mention trying to get customers to keep track of them, |

Fingers up the nose (or cotton balls), breath thru a plastic tube vented to the outside world (or hold your breath), and a pair of disposable Depends-like underpants all while wearing Vaseline on your toe and fingernails. Sounds like a new plot for Stephen King movie to me. All part of the sophisticated world of sunless """""""tanning""""""". Seems more like a fraternity prank to me.
