I am currently using chief-tan at my salon and it's so orange!! I couldn't believe it. I need some reccomendations as to what solution has the best color and will actually last more than 5 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |
Try biddescomb everlast. I've used it and you get GREAT color, although in about 6 days you kinda look like you have a skin disease! |
Any ABT solution will have slight variances depending on the skin of the client. How well they have exfoliated, how hydrated they are, prior UV tanning damage, can all affect how well their skin "takes" the ABT solution. I recommend going to a more sunless tanning oriented board, such as abtan.com or sunless.com and doing a search on "best solutions" to see why people like certain solutions. In my experience, Tampa Bay Tan is the best, but you should really get samples of as many solutions as you can, and go from there. Best of luck to you! |
Hey Blue Island are you in Utah...? I think I have a friend that goes to your salon! I am thinking about doing some airbrushing myself. Any pointers you want to give me? |
Yes I am in Utah...who's your friend. It was a little tough my first year being in my own building with not a lot of street visability, but my clients are loyal and I haven't lost one yet! Airbrush tanning takes a lot of patience and a good eye for detail. You need to remember that you can't just erase a tan and start all over when you mess up. Each and every time has to be perfect. And you need to keep tan extending lotions and have pre-tan kits available for your customers to make sure their skin is completely ready when they come in for their tan. I will email you more detailed info if you would send me your email address. Or stop by about closing time and I will talk with you. |
Thanks for your input everyone! I decided to just order a bunch of different kinds and test on as many different skin types as I can to make sure I have the best for my customers. I have never had a problem with my current solution until recently so I am in a hurry to find one that works as good or better. Most of my clients are pretty fair skinned so I really need to find a solution a little lower in DHA content. Can't seem to find any less than 10% Thanks! |
Ace is the place, park the rig out front in the no parking area and run in and get some Minwax Antique Oak stain. Spray-on solutions will never last more than 4 or 5 days. You spray on people tick me off. A couple of places here advertise like crazy claiming their system lasts ten days. Go to that companies website and they don't even make that claim. You are nothing but a bunch of money grabbing leeches trying to make some vacation moeny by scaring people out of the sun, just like the billion dollar sunscreen industry has been doing for years. If your client likes to swim in a pool or take the occasional hot tub, then take about 4 days of that estimate. Get a real tan people! You can use the Vitamin D and you might just prevent several internal cancers while you are at it. Moderation and common sense are the keys to taking advantage of the positive effects of UV exposure while reducing the risks!!!!!!!! Still want to be painted? Then make sure your salon provides the proper mouth filters for you!!!! |
when you look for airbrush solutions there are a thousand of them out there now. Everyone jumped on the bandwagon. Look at the sunless site for good info and buy direct. Only a few make the real thing Breeze Products Biddiscombe (Stylz same company) Norvell Formulated SouthSeas JA California Tan Good luck |
