Has anyone tried Jet Tan? It's a home version of a spray tan . I was wondering how well it went on and how difficult it would be to spray on yourself.
Thanks!

While I have not personally tried Jet Tan, I can say as far as spraying yourself at home it is very tricky to get it right. I'm wondering...when I saw the informercial, I noticed there wasn't a cord attached or anything...I'm thinking any battery would wear out before I finished my entire body, and I'm not a large woman! Beyond the usual game of Twister to get most areas, you can absolutely forget about getting your back sprayed. Try it with your blow dryer to see what I mean.

Also, another concern of mine is the overspray. Unless you spray yourself in the shower, you will not appreciate this purchase at all. Now, there's nothing wrong with spraying yourself in the shower, other than the fact that mirrors come in handy and I haven't seen too many showers with mirrors, but that could just be my deprived existence in the Midwest.

My personal favorite is when the girl is spraying herself in a lounge chair beside a pool-----OUTSIDE!-----Ha! That's a joke. One little breeze and her tan is going to blow away, NOT spray on her!

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

ok here's the skinny on the Jet Tan thing. I ordered it about 2 weeks ago, and I definately recommend it...but it's not perfect. I'm super pale, and a true candidate for skin cancer, and although I've tried tanning salons, I could never get a base tan, and don't want to risk long term skin/health damage. I've tried just about every sunless tanner on the market.. literally..everything from the designer brands to the mystic tan, to the pharmacy brands (neutragina etc). I've finally found a system that works for me and gives me a 'normal' looking tan.
The Jet Tan tool by itself is great, it's a simple design, it's quick, it's easy to use, and it applies the tanning solution in a nice even layer on your skin...just don't hold it too close otherwise it sprays too much in one spot. The key is to hold it abut 6 to 8 inches away from your skin so it kind of mists over you (yes, like lady in the infomercial sitting by the pool). So, I highly recommend buying the tool because you don't have to touch anything and your hands don't get discolored. You can spray your back too, which is something I was never able to do with the other products. Also, it's rechargeable, it comes with an AC adapter, and when it's fully charged it goes for about 45 minutes, but it only takes about 5 minutes to do your entire body, so the charge will last you a few uses before you have to plug it in. I've found, however, that if you use it WHILE it's plugged in it works much, much better.
Here's what I DON'T like about it... the product that comes with it is HORRIBLE. It is one of the worse sunless products I've used. It just sits on your skin and if you sweat just a little bit, forget it, it's all over your clothes.. the first time I used it, the next morning I woke up and my white sheets where so gross and nasty with the dye everywhere, and it didn't all come out in the wash. The product took forever to dry, and so some of my clothes are ruined because of it.
So, if you find a way to buy the airbrush tool WITHOUT the gross sunless tanner, then go for it...
Here's the system that I've found works best for me...
I use the Jet Tan tool with the Au Courant Professional Airbrush Tanning Solution . Au Courant is HANDS DOWN the best sunless tanner on the market. You can only get it online (that I know of, anyway... I haven't seen it in any stores in New Jersey).
I'm thrilled that I finally found something that works.

I just got jet tan and used it...It looks great...going to do again tomorrow. Where do you go to the the au courant you are talking about? I couldn't find anything but lotion and mousse. The original has looked good so far but like I said...it's my first time and I already have a little color.
Please email me and let me know... bigglo@bellsouth.net

Glosing~ I just want to say that One person's "BEST" can be very different on another person. It can sometimes take 5 or 10 products to finally find the right product for you. Though, I have heard that Au Courant is a good product, do be aware that it might not be for your skin type. You should evaluate your skin type and, based on that, choose a product. Some solutions will give brown tones, some golden and some reddish. I would first purchase a trial size of the product before you buy a gallon or half gallon. If you are a type I/II, a 10% solution may very well be very dark on you. If you are a III. IV, or V, a 10% might work well with your skin. The trick is: Find a product that will enhance you, not make you too dark (which will a lot of times turn you orange), exfoliation and maintaining your "tan". On sunless.com, there are a whole list of solution products that might help you. I think that the Jet Tan solution is on the lighter side as far as the solution (maybe a 3% to a 5%---which is about the same percentage as many sunless tanning lotions in the drugstore--% being a light product, 5% being a deep product)BUT, I am not entirely sure on this. Also, here is a link that has some solutions for sale:

I hope this helps you in your quest. I have done a lot of trial and error. so just wanted to "warn" you

Don't even try it. I had a friend who hated how you had to pump it to go on. You need to Shadow Tans about their aerosol tanning spray and systems. Great solution and awesome color 1-866-tan-tans. All the best, Shadows

Save your money. I purchased this about 2 months ago from HSN and sent it back. First off, the spray is very thin so to do an even spray all around your body, it takes forever.
You can't do your back. They tell you to NOT turn the sprayer upside down. Well, take your hair dryer and try to get your entire back without having it go upside down. nearly impossible.
Also, I noted that when you turn the sprayer off, pull it away from you fast! The remaining stuff in the chamber drips out and you don't want dots on your body from the tan.
I didn't even like the color. I did my legs to try it first and I get better color from a bottle. It wasn't worth it to me

I bought the jet tan a few months ago and really like it. Paleinnj is right about how the stuff rubs off but what I do is wear all black or dark colored clothing so then it's not really an issue. I find that even if I get a little more in some area's that it still comes out even the next day. I have had so many compliments on my new "tan". I put it on at the end of the day a few hours before I go to bed I also put a dark sheet on the bed that I sleep in then the next morning I just shower the stuff off and I usually have a nice even tan. It used to be when I would use a self tanner that I could never get my hands or feet perfect but with the jet tan my feet and hands look so natural that I'm not afraid to go outside with sandals on.
