I just got my HVLP unit. I have been using the Airbrush. My question is this.. do you spray the same way with the HVLP as the Airbrush? It would seem to me if the HVLP is wider than you would'nt spray the same. But what about all 3 sides of the face? inner legs ect... Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Yoco;
Your supplier should have provided you with an instruction manual and support as my company does. The application with HVLP is quite different than with an airbrush. I always start with the back with the spray in a horizontal pattern to the body going down the body in even sweeps. Then the sides first with the arms down and then raised above the head. Next the front, same thing. I usually do another spray on the legs pausing to dry between applications by blowing straight air from my gun. Then switch the pattern on the gun to vertical and go over the body again. Lastly I do the arms. Extended in front get your client to make a claw with the hand. go over the arms and mist the hands very gently last. Have the client make a fist and then turn the arm outwards. This time avoid the hand. Finally I do the face and very lightly mist the feet because they usually get some overspray! Hope this helps. |

Airbrush spraying and HVLP are very different. When you spray with an HVLP it helps to begin spraying off the body a bit and then spray horizontally or vertically. This seems to prevent the "running" that you may get if you start spraying directly on the body. synthesized is right ... hands on will give you the touch you need. With a little practice I think you find you love it especially if you do a lot of sprays ... it's a lot quicker.
