Rep Power: 21 | Some time ago, several tantalkers mentioned introducing sunless units to the US market (some imported I presume). I specifically remember Top250 and HealtheyTan making mention. While I am not a fan of either Mystic or Magic Tan, they are the market leader in my area, and are getting lots of attention (especially since Jessica Simpson keeps telling everyone she mystics). So someone please direct me to something different, and Much better. |

Rep Power: 0 | Wish I could help but I am a believer in the Mystic Unit. We own 3 within our 5 salons and have done very well. A comparison of year to date numbers from this year to last year show that we continue to increase by 24% in sessions and a 27% in income. If not the Mystic or Mist On then try some type of sunless spray system. It is a great addition to your salons services. California Tan has a new system that is called the Turbo Bronze system. You may want to check out their web site. |

Rep Power: 21 | Thanks Tracie, It seems like Mystic has become synonymmous with sunless tanning, like Xerox is to copying, and Pampers is to diapers, and... well you get the point. I'm wondering if any other spray on units will be able to get substantial market share any time soon unless they do something radically different. I mean, there's not much to the fundamentals of how these systems work, so they have to improve in other ways (like efficiency, design, usability) which is probably the biggest issue with any of these systems. I just don't like the construction and design of the Mystic, but it gives a decent tan. The Magic looks a bit better, but I've never tried it. |

Rep Power: 0 | As for sunless booths, BronzMist is a great unit. It takes up a fraction of the space Mystic does. It has 4 pumps and 21 wide spray nozzles which are non-moving, so therefor wont break. It also has an optional dressing room. When it comes to airbrush however, I am doing it at my salon, and about 1/2 of the customers say they like it versus Mystic and Magic because they didn't like first of all, the odor with either of those ans second, the way they wore off. Everyone is going to have their favorite no matter what. What works for one, wont for the other and so on. |

Rep Power: 24 | I have had a week in testing my new Coca Bay unit from England..Actually it has been renamed in the USA and I will have to post that later this week. It is awesome, everything about it speaks of quality. It has a fine mist like magic but the residue is not heavy on you like the magic gives.. There are very few times you even have to pat down any DHA in this unit... You can look at it at http://www.sunquestsunbeds.com tommy _________________ Tommy Lowery[ This Message was edited by: Sonshinetans on 2004-05-04 22:04 ] |

Rep Power: 0 | Try a MagicTan unit before you make up your mind. I've only had one minor problem in about 15 months and it was fixed immediately. It really is a solid machine, unlike some of the lower-priced garbage out there. Try them all I say. |

Rep Power: 0 | I agree with Zman34 about the Magictan. We have both in our area and I drive 20 minutes farther just to do the Magictan. I tend to get a starchy smell when I do the Mystic, but not with Magic. I've never gotten a bad tan either from the Magictan. |

Rep Power: 0 | wwwmaster, I agree when you say that there is not much to the fundamentals of the spray-on tan. But there is in fact one very major difference. Mystic has owned the market for one simple reason, their equipment works. You can market the **** out of any product or service, but if it's not backed up by solid performance, your going nowhere. Mystic is in a class of it's own, far ahead of the pack. The distinguishing feature is the electrostatics. It's what makes spray-on work. Magic,Instant,MistOn,etc... can do the hokuspokus with words and claims, but equipment performance keeps them all at a distant second place. |

Rep Power: 21 | Tommy, the Bronz Mist has been pretty much redone, my partner and I have underwent a lot of changes on the booth! I know you had problems with the money situation, but that does not mean it is not a good booth! George does not even have a part in selling the booths any more, and we have teamed up with JOHN ABATE INTERNATIONAL to use their solution ! So with a name like that backing the Bronze Mist, there are people that like it! We are the distributors for it now, we have 6 up and running with no problems and great results, and have 16 more on order and 6 on the way as we speak! If anyone else is interested you can call 1.800.591.8266 x101. Tommy I have talked to you before, and again sorry about the problems you had !
