Rep Power: 0 | Baskri, there are lots of things to consider when deciding which equipment to buy. Personally, I was starting out small (mobile and out of home)and didn't want to mess with compressors. I wanted something that would last long and hold up if I did 15 sprays in a row. I chose the Apollo unit and just uprgraded to the new TC3 from Liquid Assets. They are offering free solution with the purchase of their units(www.liquidassetstanning.com). The TC3 is made by Apollo Sprayers International, who have been building HVLP guns and turbines for many many years. Consider warranties, cutomer service, quality of solution , how many clients you'll have, how much of an investment you want to put in, your potential clients and their results. Personally, I can't imagine spraying 15 people with an airbrush or if it would even hold up. Check and see what the warranty is, check and see who the maker is and if you can find reviews on the product. I haven't heard of them until now. let us know what you find out! |

Rep Power: 0 | Hello everyone. I am just opening my tanning business and am a little confused by all of the different machines and terms. The long and short of it is that I need to purchase equipment that is effective, cuts down the time per client, and is technologically ahead of where ever airbrush tanning is headed and not behind it. Can someone please recommend a solid piece of equipment that delivers excellent results in a reasonable amount of time. If you know of a great solution that works well with this product, please forward that on as well. Thanks for your time. El |

Rep Power: 0 | Hello mbtla If you are interested in equipment that will give you great results in a short period of time, you definitely want to go LVLP or HVLP. This type of equipment operates on a turbine rather than a compressor. They give you great results with very little overspray and you will use about 2 oz. of DHA per person. There are many different types on the market which vary in price, size, noise level etc. All should be able to spray any type of solution and exfoliant. Look for a good warranty and good customer service. As far as solutions, everyone has their favorites. Some of the ones I've tried and like a lot are AYU, Flavours, Ocean and Biddescombe. PM me if you'd like some contact information on these and others - I've been putting together a list which I can email you. Jayne |

Rep Power: 0 | Baskri, Well, as I said before, I have been using Liquid Assets and have found it to be my favorite. I have mentioned a couple others on here in past posts, but this solution , in my opinion, is above them. I have had a natural looking and flawless tan since I started to use this solution . The fading is natural and even and it lasts a nice long time. I have found it to last at least 2 days or more longer than the other solutions I have tried. Something I have found to be common is that people who are interested in starting in this business, but don't do a LOT of research, tend to make a purchase on equipment that is small in price. For instance the airbrush and compressor. Yes, they are great for doing mobile and shows and booths at fairs, but will they really hold out for the long haul? Well, there are some that will do this for you. I suggest that you research on sunless.com at the following link http://www.sunless.com/phorum/read.php?f=3&i=749&t=749 look under "WHAT SYSTEM SHOULD I BUY" if you are interested in a compressor, this link should direct you to the good ones. Even still, some of these compressors run you a few hundred dollars, and more if you are interested in spraying with a gun. Bottom line: You get what you pay for. If you can afford a little more, go for it. Like Jayne, I say look into the HVLP (in her case the LVLP). I completely recommend the TC3. It may look a little bulky, but it is lighter than you would think. has a work station and I can fit it in my back seat for mobile applications. Good luck! And for more information or reviews on equipment, try abtan.com! Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions! |

Rep Power: 21 | This is to answer the question someone had regarding whether they can buy an HVLP at Harbor Freight and get the same results. Quite honestly, the answer is no. The systems that are offered today from various tanning companies, TBT, React, Liquid Assets, Sprays of Rays, etc., have a modified gun needle that is significantly smaller than what is available commercially in hardware stores, etc. The finer needle allows the user to spray fine solutions in a controllable manner...Smaller spray pattern, if you will...Something that is conducive to spraying a human body. Warranties and customer service is where you should feel out your best options. Price is important, but it won't matter if you get a great deal and the company is no longer in existence. I personally use the Apollo system I bought from TBT. I use several different solutions...Right now I'm testing four different ones just for fun so I can keep up on what's new. Overspray is an issue. I don't care how great your system is, how precise of a sprayer you are. The solution is misted, and therefore gets just about everywhere. We built our own overspray screen to alleviate this problem, and while it did take care of most of it, it's still airborne and has the propensity to get over everything with time. Jen www.abtan.com |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi All! I'm an owner of a Skincare center and will be offering sunless tanning. Last week we were in Chicago at the beauty show and had a lot of airbrush and mist tanning systems demonstrated. We like the SunFX mist HVLP turbo system. However, it's $5K and they want you to buy their solution . Can anyone tell me a good alternative? Is Malibubronze my only alternative if one at all? I'd like to order within two weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Midwest Skincare |
