I really like the hvlp guns over the traditional, and very slow, air brush. The key with both is the solution. So far, the best combination I have found is the Mist-On air brush solution in my hvlp gun. It works good in my air brush system, but air brushing just takes too long for me.

Marie, I would have to politely disagree with the key as the solution. I personally think that the key to a good application is the technician!! If you get someone who doesn't know exactly what they are doing or haven't had exatensive research and practice, turn the other way!!!!! These qualities, in conjunction with a good solution, that the technician is familiar with, is definitely the key!

Shadow Tans has great solution and systems as well as A Tan in a Can. You will love their solution and product and systems. My girlfriend sprays me with it and it dries quickly and gives a rich and golden tan. Call 1-866-tan-tans. All the best with your new found Shadow Tans

MagicTan recently unveiled their new airbrush system at the Vegas show. It is absolutely awesome. Not cheap, but awesome. My friend actually got sprayed there. Her arm actually.

I bought a TurboMist from Malibubronz 3 months ago an I have been increasing my sales over last year with this unit because I have been able to cut the spray time in half! My hand does not get tired and the coverage compared to my old airbrush is unbelievable!
SprayTanz ROCKS!!

Chrstie, you are so right. The technican makes all the difference in the world. Especially with Mist-On and HVLP. It is very potent, and can be a disaster in the hands of an ameteur. Mist-On is for the seasoned pro only. Novell is much more forgiving for the less experienced. So let me revise my earlier post, Novell or Mist-On work great with airbrush, even for a starter tech. With the HVLP gun, Novell for the starter techs and Mist-On for the seasoned pros. HVLP is ultimately the way to go, but techs may want to start off with an airbrush and work their way up.

I have had my spray tan equipment for three months, but I am afraid to start spraying customers. I didn't have time to really get a good technique down and now that it is slow I would really like to try it. Does anyone have any application tips?
