Anyone Tried the New MaxiMist Ultra -OR- 2011 MaxiMist Pro?

Anyone Tried the New MaxiMist Ultra -OR- 2011 MaxiMist Pro?

Heard these new systems produce great tans, and are quieter than their predecessors.

Any comments or insight would be appreciated! THX

I use the 2011 Maxi Mist Pro, I love it but have never tried anything else so I sadly cannot compare it to anything for you. The only complaint is that the hose did pop off once and I am now careful to push both ends in and not streatch the hose too much (not hard, its a long hose) and it works like a charm. I have both guns and have never even tried the other I just use the pro gun it is so nice to use and professional feeling and looking. I love the feel of the trigger so much nicer than the other gun that comes with the machine, nice to have as a back up though!

Most of these units are made by Earlex. They are made for spraying paint. Google Earlex and check them out if you don't believe me. All you need is the right needle for the thickness of the solution. Some of these same units can be bought at Sears.

Thanks for the replies!

I ended up purchasing the new MaxiMist Ultra with the Pro Gun. It was definitely less noisy than the Apollo, as you can adjust the air pressure. So at the optimum setting for a tan it was noticeable quieter- did not have to yell at my clients, and the sound did not penetrate the entire facility.

However- the Pro Gun has been problematic. Troubleshot many times with tech support as to why it was “speckling” on my clients when sprayed, and never could get it resolved. Thought it was the pressure, then the gun adjustments, then the tubing was wrong on the gun, etc. Nothing fixed this problem so back went the machine and gun for evaluation…

That's a bummer. I learned with the pro gun that it only takes about a half of a turn adjustment from closed position for a good spray, any more than that and there is too much solution coming out which for me in the beginning resulted in speckling and running. But your problem does sound like something must be wrong with your gun if you went through all the troubleshooting. Best of luck getting everything fixed.

I'm still trying to find the perfect setting for the pro gun . I got frustrated and just use my regular one . If at closed position it is 12:00 what do you set it at ? Some people say 1/2 turn and some say less . What's the best using minute references?

Were you ever able to get your Pro gun to work correctly? If not I think I can tell you how to fix it.
