What are the top 5 spray tan solutions you have used?

I keep finding what works for some doesn't work for others. The reviews at my salon have gone down (and up) with different chemicals/mixes.

What is a good all around solution that is a good choice????

I hate having people come back saying they look orange!

Let me know what you guys prefer and use the most!

Been there done that and wish it was that easy! No search for "top solutions" or "top spray solutions" lists all.

I'm looking for the top 5 based on qualified research and use of the product not simply a review on single products ranging from small time players to the 'big boys' (who ever they may be...).

*** Who are the big players in the solution industry?

This is what i'm looking for. The TOP 5 (or 10) in MANY peoples opinions...

I understand you want to shorten your search but as been said many many times. ..you have to try them to see what YOU like. What 5, 10,20 or 100 like,you might not. Sorry, there is no short cut.

Thanks sassy but i'm looking for what works for the majority of people hence the question on what the top brands are...

I understand they may or may not work but with 100's out there if 100 people prefer brand A,B,C,D,E,F and they keep popping up as most popular I will know what to buy next.

Gauging this on peoples experience with past product. Not taking a 'short cut' on search. It's a business reputation i'm trying to hold with my clients, there are no short cuts. Finding the correct information right off the bat is key.

I'm going to tell you top 5 that i have continued to hear about on these boards

1. Jamaica me tan
2. Norvell
3. Sjolie (or however you spell that)
4. Tan Extraordinaire
5. Bronze

As as personal experience, ive tried Envy Tan and Be Bronze. Both are great, but Be Bronze (at www.bebronze.com) offers a one size fits all like solution. One color that adapts to everyone. Where Envy tan is just the opposite. They offer a wide variety of shides... lot cooler.

I'm looking forward to trying jamaica me tan next because ive heard so much about this brand its unreal. Norvell of course, is just... norvell. famous for the name i suppose. havent heard near as many good things about norvell as i have jamaica me tan.

Never tried Bronzz, the one that advertises on this site 24/7. And the sample solutions that come with most maximists, like tan extraordinaire, tan envy, tan revive, and tanfastic are all orangish to me. Tried those and sprayed people with those and i only used them as a practice solution...

Just try some samples. The reason You might hear about a solution tons of times is only due to repetition and trying to make sales . just because you hear of it all over this forum does not make it superior. So really unfortunately there is no short cut. 100 people like something and 100 people won't
Just look for a company that provides good service and has been around a while . Until then I am sure you will waste $ on samples like the rest of us

I too am interested in what ppl have to say about diff solutions. I just bought a turbo tan spray tan mobile unit. Knowing absolutley nothing about the biz, I went to work. I have had more neg reactions than positive on the Ocean Essentials solution that came with my machine. I have sence learned the majority of my clients were not properly preparing for their spray tan. You can't really hit them over the head with moisturizer! I have ordered samples of other solutions so we'll see. BUT, you can spend a small fortune on samples when you don't know where to start!

My opinion Jamaica Me Tan is AMAZING! never,ever had a complaint!
Great color,lasts long & it fades really well!! I have been spray tanning since 2006 and have spent a lot of money trying many,many solutions...Give JMT a try

Norvell for me. I like the Organic line as it does look natural, never orange and gives a very glowy look.

I totally agree. That's why there are so many different perfumes...we all have our own favorite. Customer service is VERY important.

I use to use Evny Tan, always had good results. I just tried Norvel last night and really happy with those results as well. Intersted in trying JMT

I am not by any means a HUGE salon or anything-I just do this on the side-And I have done trial and error with about 10 different solutions. I had a different solution on every limb of my body! I wasn't about to charge ANYONE if I didn't like the way it turned out-Also cost was an issue-I'm not pouring my life savings into this so I wanted to keep cost down-I like having a variety of shades and spraytan.com has the Bronzz product-I ordered it on a whim b/c it was on the cheaper per gallon side-I am very pleased with it-THERE IS ACTUALLY A NO ORANGE GUARANTEE on the bottle-and not one of my clients has ever complained. And I have a lot of repeat customers!

I'm not sure why people were getting on your case about going back through all these threads and posts and reading ALL the other comments-they obviously took time to read your post-so I just figured I would take time and tell you the solution I use-

Here is a list of solutions I tried before choosing Bronzz.

Envytan-it was great-low odor-not too bad on price but Bronzz has the same effect and is cheaper
Awaken-? I don't know how I came across this product-it may have came with something else I purchased
Ocean-not a fan-just looked cheap lol! i am cheap but i don't look cheap :) and I don't want everyone else knowing im cheap either!

Anyways-that is my opinion I'm sure everyone else has theirs! Good luck in your search!

AYU sunless is a stand out for me! i changed to it after AVIVA jacked their prices up. and i have stuck with it for a year or so. I also love South Seas lately. It is a one size fits all line, so just the one color that i read is about a 9%. i really like it cause the bronzer is lighter than most, so it doesn't look too dark the first day.

i also use jamaica me tan sometimes, and norvell as well. i stock all of the above but use AYU and South Seas the most. Norvell has such a dark bronzer, i am afraid to use it on newbies cause it may freak them out!

For an organic solution I really like Vanity (no...it's not Vani-T) NEVER orange,No streaking,nice scent etc.Give it a try!

I have been using Tango Sun for years...I've never had a complaint from any of my customers. I also recently started using Sjolie Ultra One. I've had clients rave about it! It lets them decide how dark they want to be..they can leave it on for 4 hours or longer for a deeper tan. I am very happy with it!

I like Natural Glow's Carribean Cocktail. It is a nice, natural medium color for most people. Dries quick and great scent.

Aviva Labs Gimmee Brown 10 is the favorite of my tanning consultants. They love the natural golden tan the solution produces. My skin is a little more pale & pink so I prefer the Aviva Original 8 because the tan exfoliates at a more natural appearance for my skin type.

The great thing about the Aviva Solutions is that they minimize the guide color in the solution so our customers do not suffer from bronzer shock when the guide is showered off. Also there is never any harsh, dark evidence of DHA that some of the solutions exhibit during the spray session.

Alot of our customers call our Aviva tans "Ready To Wear" because the solution goes on so evenly & natural that our customers can head to any event immediately after spraying. The feature I love most about the Aviva solutions is that it doesn't leave the skin looking or feeling dry like so many other solutions do. We even find that it actually plumps & moisturizes the skin...our customers rave about this distinguishing feature.

Amazing how many new names there are. I think most are the same just private labeled. I found one that was charging $150.00 a gallon but it was the same solution you could get for $85.00. Just a different name. Exact same ingredients.

When I switched to Jamaica Me Tan my client base increased. I love the options for color choices. And it lasts and has a grade fade. I give my clients detailed pre and post tan information as well.

I loved the Norvell One but have recently switched to Norvell Venetian One which was sent to me by mistake. Both are express solutions that adjust to clients skin tone and rinse in 1-3 hours. It is funny because my experience with the regular Venetian was less then stellar.

The one I would most like to try is Black Magic but to be honest I have a hard time using and recommending a solution that has to stay on for 8-16 hours. Even for me I like to rinse and forget about it.

Also I sometimes feel a bit limited by what local distributors carry in Canada and have been surprised by exorbitant customs and duties on imports. :(
