Quiet HPLV Equipment?

Hello all...it's time for a new purchase and I currently have the Apollo T100 Mini Mist, HVLP.

It's been a good sunless system, but LOUD as heck- you can hear it throughout my entire facility!

I know there is always a level of noise, but I’d appreciate any comments on other equipment that may be on the quieter side.

Thanks a bunch!

Barb

It's the nature of the beast. Just how the machines are. I know norvell sells a quite box and have heard of others making them as well to help with the sound

Re: Quiet HPLV Equipment?

I just bought the 2011 MaxiMist Pro, just got it today. I haven't sprayed with it yet, but I did hook it up and turn it on just to see how loud it was. It's really not that bad for a mobile type gun. I've gotten spray tans from others that were much louder. This one came with 2 guns. I can't wait to actually spray someone and see how it goes.

I use Fantasy Tan and the system is so quiet and it doesn't run constantly! I love it. Worth every penny.

True HVLP is inherently loud, but its worth it because of the increased quality of the tan delivered. Some can be put in Quiet boxes and that works ok, best solution is to place unit in a closet and run the air hose to the area your spraying. You can put sound absorbing materials in the closet to muffle the noise and have the best of both worlds!!! Hope that helps!!

Re: Quiet HPLV Equipment?

Thanks for the replies!

I ended up purchasing the new MaxiMist Ultra with the Pro Gun. It was definitely less noisy than the Apollo, as you can adjust the air pressure. So at the optimum setting for a tan it was noticeable quieter- did not have to yell at my clients, and the sound did not penetrate the entire facility.

However- the Pro Gun has been problematic. Troubleshot many times with tech support as to why it was “speckling” on my clients when sprayed, and never could get it resolved. Thought it was the pressure, then the gun adjustments, then the tubing was wrong on the gun, etc. Nothing fixed this problem so back went the machine and gun for evaluation…

Re: Quiet HPLV Equipment?

i have 2 spray tan rooms. one has the apollo whispermist, and one has the norvell Z3000 with the quiet box. the whispermist compressor is much quieter than the norvell Z3000 compressor. the gun on both is exactly the same, and manufactured by apollo. i would recommend the whispermist because it is much quieter, and a little less expensive. i have toyed around with the idea of getting the evolv, i would love to offer a warm spray tan. but, since i havent read enough reviews on it, i will stay with the 2 i have. especially since the evolv is ungodly expensive, i just cant justify spending the money on it.

Re: Quiet HPLV Equipment?

Apollo T3 with quiet box, then apply sound absorbing material to surrounding space. Works like a charm for 4-6 hours a day for 6 years not problems at all. Just spray, spray, spray... i do take the hose adaptor off the hose when i run it to heat up unit first thing in the morning, that helps drop noise level by 1/3 at least. clients don't mind the noise, they just want the best tan possible.
