Suprised that no one has answered you yet.

We just got our HD upgrade to our existing MyMyst.
Heat is the most noticible thing for customers.
Several things which make our (salon operator's) lives better.
1. filterless drain pump.
2. slide out fan filter
3. rinse off hose
4. new control box with auto rinse (if you set it that way)
5. better rinse nozzle in the ceiling

It is nicer looking with the new red & white panel overlays and new door with one way glass (they can see out, but you can't see in), and the tower is now closer to the customer.

There are probably other things too, but I like ours and my first time I used it I got great color.

Are you still happy with your Mystic HD? I have a Mystic Blue Box and have a pretty decent sunless business but, I want to upgrade. Not sure if I should get a used MyMist or just go ahead and get the new HD? any feedback?

I'm very pleased with the results, but I'm still trying to build up my sunless customer base. If you already have a good customer base, it'll be a great upgrade to keep your base yours not your competitor's.

Re: diff between mystic mymist and the hd?

The difference between the MyMyst & HD is basically what HTBob said: the looks of the booth, the heater / dryer inside, the new software & touch pad to run the booth which includes auto-rinse.

Any spray tan is nice. It will easily tan people who may not tan well otherwise like redheads & blondes.

The Mystic HD heats the booth up inside to about body temperature. It opens the pores & helps the color start developing more quickly. Plus you don't get chilled by the spray & don't have to towel off. The current Mystic spray cartridges have an updated solution that gives the best Mystic tans ever. The older Mystics still use the Premium formula in 5 gallon jugs.

Be sure you have the customer base & marketing strategies to present the Mystic to the public you will provide a good product for them. New Mystic come with $5000 retail value of products, promotional items & info. The included booklets have great ideas for successful marketing & promotion of the Mystic Tan system.

I would not waste my money on the extra expensive HD Booth. We have a Mymist and our business is booming..no HD upgrade needed here:)

Well, it's obvious you haven't been in one of these booths in Ohio in the winter with 20 degree air hitting you in the buff.... After you've tried the HD you won't want any other booth spraying you.

(and don't say, bring the air compressor in out of the garage.... it's way too noisy for my salon)

Re: diff between mystic mymist and the hd?

Oh yeah, the 2010 & 2011 Mystic HDs all came with the small, silent compressor that sits right behind the booth. These need the oil checked regularly via the fish-eye window.

Earlier HD UPGRADED booths (upgraded from the MyMyst) may or may not have the silent compressor.

If not silent a silent compressor then it's usually installed in a closet or laundry room in the back of the store. They're not terribly loud & a ventilated box can be put over them to quiet them a lot.

The HDs all need a 220volt 20amp outlet added in the Mystic room in addition to the standard 120volt 20amp wall outlet. (USA models mainly - other markets use different voltages).
