Question Portable Mobile Lighting

Can anyone out there tell me what they use for portable lighting for spray tanning? I find some homes I get to that the lighting is poor and it is hard for me to see the product being applied. Halogen? Florescent? Standard "clip on" lighting? What works for you...........?

Re: Portable Mobile Lighting

When I painted bikes I preferred florescent lighting. Wider light distribution, didn't generate much heat and cheap bulbs that lasted a good long time.

Halogen lights are too focused, generate a lot of heat, and don't last very long.

Re: Portable Mobile Lighting

I have searched up and down for lighting for mobile use.. and have yet to find anything that makes me completely happy.

Re: Portable Mobile Lighting

I picked up a clip-on led light from Walmart. It has worked out quite well. Sometimes I wish I had purchased 2 of them for each side of the tent but 1 does the job. I place the light for legs as my tent has a clear top. It is bright so you probably don't want anything too bright around clients eyes. Perhaps the book lights would be good for the top if you don't have a clear top.

It is small and throws a lot of light and does not get hot at all which is important for safety for the tan tent, the client and packing up quickly.

You can see it in my youtube segment on what's in my bag part deux.

I like it as well because no worrying about bulbs breaking. The light is obviously very white but for me I'm not concerned about "make-up" colour accurate lighting. I just need to see the colour guide and make sure it is even.

Ideally I would LOVE a Glamcor light but I just cannot justify spending $300 on another item I would have to carry and I would probably keep standing in front of it casting shadows, but a girl can dream.

Hope that helps!

OMG! That is awesome! I guess I would be afraid to blind someone but I guess it is not that bright. I wonder if I could attach that to my gun…hmmm that would be cool!
