X-Calibur tripping breaker Hi all, having an issue with my Xcalibur tripping my circuit breaker mid session. I have a 30 amp breaker in there now, that needs & is going to be replaced, but i am thinking the Xcalibur may require a 50 amp? Trying to find an answer to this before I replace it with another 30 amp. Anyone happen to know? I appreciate any assistance with this. Thanks!

Rep Power: 20 | Re: X-Calibur tripping breaker There a big difference between a 30 amp and a 50 amp breaker, for one the 30 amp only has # 10 wire which if overloaded will cause a fire. If you are drawing more amp on start up you will trip the breaker. If you put a 50 amp breaker in place of a 30 amp you will have a fire. Reason is that the amp load exceed the rated load for wire so the 50 amp breaker will not trip, and the wire will heat up and melt down causing a fire. be careful as what you do call a qualified electrician, one who work on a tanning salon and ask were he work so you can call a check his experience. |

Re: X-Calibur tripping breaker Thanks for your reply :) Ok, there is more to this issue. let me explain... My Xcalibur, has been tripping the breaker, at some point during every session i run it. The bed starts every time, but trips & shuts off, at a different point every time. It started by doing it every once in a while (maybe every 30 sessions or so) to now (weeks later) doing it every time. I recently relamped, put in new acrylics & new starters. We have checked & rechecked all the wiring, connections, ballasts, etc, and all seems fine. *The only thing we're thinking could be an issue is one of the fans in the canopy is really struggling to move, almost dead. Any thoughts on that? *At the panel, the breaker for this room IS old & loose & most definately needs replacing. I thought it best for the next step to be to replace the bad breaker. (my reason for wanting to know if it requires a 30 or 50 amp) If that doesnt fix the issue, then back to checking every other possibility. I love, love, love this bed & so do clients. But OMG, it is no low maintenance bed. ~ Exhausted

Rep Power: 20 | Re: X-Calibur tripping breaker If a fan is running slow it might be shutting down the bed thru over heating, if you have 2 fan in canopy check to see if both are running the same. the breaker could be worn down by now replace to see if it help, the manual will tell you what size breaker the bed is design to run on, if you do not have goggle the manual. |
