Re: Ergo 650 Classic E040.... help?

I couldn't really understand what he was explaining to me because his English (especially in technical instances) isn't very good. But it's fixed. Oy.

Make sure that the paddle isn't bent or missing and make sure it clicks when pushed in. Also, make sure that one of the cables is not holding it out. That is a simple fix.
Hi Sun Doctor - I have an Avantgarde 600 and also powers down after a few seconds. Error code is E040 . Just wondering if you can post a picture of where I should look for the paddle so I can check if your solotion works on my bed. Thanks for your help I really need this bed up running for my busy period.

Re: Ergo 650 Classic E040.... help?

I have the ergoline 600 classic and my switch is not bent or blocked and does click when pushed in. But it does randomly give me the error code 0040 after the 17 second mark, if I run the bed for a couple minutes in the morning it will work fine the rest of the day. I fine the fan starts out slow in the morning when bed is cold so assuming that is find the switch doesn't get sucked in, how do I make program fan to run harder at start of session every time?

Re: Ergo 650 Classic E040.... help?

If the ambient temp in the room is cold then the main fan will not spin fast enough to activate the switch. The fan is thermostatically controlled and will speed up with room temp so in a cold environment the lamps will still reach operating temp at a set rate.

There is no adjustment. Make the room warmer at the start of the day or just warm up the bed.

Thanks Brian for your response, I was afraid that was the answer but at least no expense in parts and labour. Cheers

There is adjustment, but with service module only. Start speed of main fan and level temp of room control.

Agreed, but no user adjustment. Connected laptop with ergo software required. Not available to salon owners. Only service techs.

Re: Ergo 650 Classic E040.... help?

Here's another thing I've found. the slow start (170 volts) on the cooling fan may not move enough air to pull the switch in if the squirrel cage vanes are plugged with lint. I started cleaning them as I found them but now every year I climb in with a vacuum hose and thin long screw driver and scrap each vane with a vacuum hose sucking up the crud.
I wish I had a better way to do it but I haven't found it.
