The maker put crimp on connectors on all the wires including the 8 gauge wire leading to and coming off the main power contractors. That's a big no - no. Those AB contractors were built to accept bare stranded wire. When they clamp down the whole cable comes in contact with the clamp and a good low resistance connection is made. Using a metal crimp, only a very small contact is made on the top and bottom of the clamp, causing a high voltage drop, causing heat, causing the cable to melt. Take a look, you will see a heavy cable burned in two. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: UB Supernova HELP! That's not true, a ferrule is fine to use on connections. The contactors are designed to accept stranded or solid wire. The reason the connections burn up is because the capacitors go bad and the bed starts to pull more current than normal which overloads the wiring and causes it to burn. |
