Sundash R26 Voltage and Receptacle Requirements

Hi,

Can someone please help me to determine the type of NEMA receptacle that my bed requires, and also verify that our bed is 20 Amps?

It's an older model, Wolff Sundash R26.

There's not a plug or power cord - just a cord with the ground/neutral/etc wires sticking out.

I'm recommending an electrician to complete the install, but I want to make sure that I'm not missing something that I already should have. (I wasn't supplied with an owners manual.)

Thank you in advance,
Candice

Re: Sundash R26 Voltage and Receptacle Requirements

120/240 or 120/208

The ballasts are 120 volt so it runs on either system with no transformers.

Two hots, one neutral, one ground.

Plugs that will work:

NEMA 14-20P plug and 14-20R receptacle

NEMA 14-30P plug and 14-30R receptacle

Can use a 20 or 30 amp single phase circuit with a two pole breaker.

The 14-30P is more common and is the common plug used for dryers.

Re: Sundash R26 Voltage and Receptacle Requirements

I have a sundash r26P 1993 that I'm looking to get some parts for. The blue plastic start/stop button has broken and I need a new one or even would buy a whole new timer. Every place I contact tells me they don't make timers for that old of bed anymore. PLEASE HELP

Is there any type of data plate on these beds. I have looked all over for the electricial data plate and cant find it.

Also there is a second cord coming out of the back. It has 3 conductors which are 14 AWG. What would this cord be for?

Rick - if you are referring to the 14AWG wire that comes out of the REMOTE connector on the ballast tray, this is for a remote timer system, or main timer if your bed is not digital.

As for Voltage, I would definitely recommend the 220V/30AMP connection - not 110

Also, if you need a manual - let me know your email address and I will send you one. Just tell me if your R26 has a digital timer or not so I can send the correct one.
