sunvision zx30 - tanTALK

I bought a used sunvision zx30 and when I plugged it up the timer comes on but the bulbs don't light up. It is plugged up through a buck boost. When I mess with the timer it says (id) on it but I have no idea what to do

Do you have a bypass plug installed? It goes in the back of the canopy, near where the wire runs in (assuming you have an older unit). There will be two hard to see phone jacks.

These jacks are RJ22, not regular phone jacks, smaller. The same used on older phones that had a handset with a would up cord - like a Slinky. Find one of these are cut the end off plus a few inches. Then open the end a little so you can wire the two outer wires together. So red and black together and green and yellow. Tape it up and plug it into either jack. That should put it in "home" mode.

Nevermind. I think I understand now. So, I just need a regular old coiled telephone cord from a home telephone? I will try that and I will let you know if it doesn't work. Thank you so much.

Yup. Those have the smaller end that will fit. Find one (can still get new even) and modify it and see if that helps. Either way you will need one.
