Rep Power: 0 | Help Ergoline Ambition 250's I purchased three Ergoline Ambition 250's, when I bolted the canopy's on the all seem to rub at the hinge point, I can raise the canopys so they dont rub but then the holes will not line up. Even with the canopys raised and not rubbibg I cant seem to get them adjusted. I feel that I must be doing something wrong or all three wouldent be in the same boat. Any suggestions or help would be great. I hired a "tech" found out thats a loose term, it seemed that he knew less than I do "scary". lol anyway thanks again |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Help Ergoline Ambition 250's well the way you explain it sounds like the section where the bench arms bolt to the canopy where the bolts go through but I have never seen that piece rub. But on the other hand I have seen under the bench where the arm that extends with the springs that rubs on a lot of new installs. if this is the case you need to remove the bench and verify. well I have fixed them by grabbing a chisel and hammering in the chassis of the frame to bend it inwards. let me know if this helps |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Help Ergoline Ambition 250's I have seen this on a lot of those units. Just try to lift up on the canopy with the bolts in place and tighten them. That is all you really can do. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Help Ergoline Ambition 250's Thanks for the help. After much problem solvng When the tops of the beds were removed they were switched with different bases. I was able to fix them by switching the correct tops with the base. Ergoline drills the holes in the arms for each unit after the they are fitted together. Therefore all of the beds are slightly different for a different fit. Problem solved thanks for the help |

From a quality standpoint, you can only assume that they use the cheapest route possible to make the beds.If they are willing to cut corners on stuff like this, what else do they skimp on? I knew those Ergos were junkpiles.

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Help Ergoline Ambition 250's maegatanman you should have seen the 1st versions of them. they were worse than the worst bed you can think of. they are hard to remove acrylics, adjusting canopy springs is a pain in the butt. and all the sheetmetal touch and grab a bandaid. in my opinion not well built. its just a level 1 bed . from a service standpoint look elsewhere. |

I can tell you exactly why those problems existed. The ergoline components are more than likely manufactured in Asia possibly even partially assembled. From a quality standpoint, the early model were probably substandard, product always is when the projects are first initiated.Over time im sure that Ergoline has worked through the quality issues with their suppliers, but more than likely the first of the new models are literally cobbled together. Manufacturers don't want to eat the cost and it takes 6-8 weeks for container ships to deliver ,so parts were probably reworked to be deemed useable and get their tanning beds onto the market, fill orders etc. Its a common practice by US based companies that outsource work to countries like China, but it all depends who the quality assurance person is. When I was a Quality manager,I always decided parts were not reworkable, even if they were.I would not send a product out the door that i would not use myself. The owner of the company did not know any different and he ate the costs.Thats the price he had to pay for being a cheap SOB and we were selling parts to companies like John Deere and Harley Davidson.
