Rep Power: 22 | 100w in a 160w booth... Quick question. I am re-lamping very soon, in a week or so. I had a 160w reflector lamp go out and I have none to replace it with. They are Bronzing Sun. However, I have several new 100w reflector Bronzing Sun Plus lamps. Ok to put it in there for now? It lit fine, seems to work ok. Would there be any concerns? I assumed all that would happen would be shortened lamp life but want to be sure thats all. Thanks!

Rep Power: 22 | Re: 100w in a 160w booth... Yup! Ordering next week! John @ URI helped me out a lot, will be placing a lamp order for the ENTIER salon then. Thanks for your help Engfant. I am going pretty much with what you suggested. He does have a Goldarium equivalent, a something 520, ever hear of it? The specs are exactly the same as the Goldarium, my concern is lamp life. However for the price I could relamp two for the price of one Goldarium.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: 100w in a 160w booth... I looked it up. CosmoSun 520. Here are the specs, its the hours that are the not the same: 10158 CosmoSun 520 100w F71 Bi-pin 26.0 1.1 27.1 14 40 500 11305 Goldarium SP 100w F71 Bi-pin 26.0 1.1 27.1 14 40 1000 He said even though rated hours were less, usable god hours between the two were close. The lamps are so much alike in spec I wonder if they are indeed the same.....

Rep Power: 22 | Re: 100w in a 160w booth... Well, for the price I am not afraid to try them. But you convinced me the Goldarium was a great lamp and I believe you. I also trust John. I guess I will talk to him more about it too and decide when I order! I will let you all know how they perform. But for the price, you may want to try doing one of you beds. These lamps will be new territory for me, but you know the Goldariums. I wont be able to compare if I go with the 520. Time to pick up a new UV meter!

Rep Power: 0 | Re: 100w in a 160w booth... A 100 watt lamp on a 160 ballast will run about 50 hours then burn out. The cathodes are not heavy duty like in the 160 lamp to tolerate the extra wattage. Everything else about the lamp is the same though. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: 100w in a 160w booth... Thanks. The booth will be re-lamped well before then. Just did not want to do something that could result in ballast or client damage
