Ingredients in skin care products that Inhibit Melanin production...

Before I start I would like you ALL to know that the info I am about to talk about, I read about days, weeks, before todays "Black Out" of Google and Wikipedia, and I DID contact my state Senator to let him know I am against SOPA and PIPA!!!

Many people have " dark spots" on their faces, and hands etc... and it seems as if the " New thing " on the market is " Skin Brightening and Dark Spot Correcting Creams and/or Serums because people want to get rid of them (dark spots ) , so they buy products that address the issues by purchasing Skin Lightening and / or Dark Spot Removing products.

I had done some reesearch about the ingredients, especially in facial moisturizers that claim to " Brighten The Skin" and " Get Rid of Dark Spots " because I had found out that certain ingredients "inhibit the production of melanin" , and that's how they can "Brighten the Skin and/or Get Rid of Dark Spots" because the " dark spots " are most likely melanin accumulated in the form of small clusters beneath the skin. These creams / moisturizers, by inhibiting the production of melanin, the skin's renewal process takes 28 days and the "new" skin has less melanin in that spot and it can take months to get the look of the dark spots to go away.

These products have become more and more popular since some of the products have been advertised on TV for the past 4-6 months or so, to "Remove Dark Spots" on your face, or to " Even Out Your Skin Tone " etc...and are sold by "Olay Regenerist, Garnier, Neutrogeena "...and those are just a few that advertise on TV, there are Many Many more that are sold in High End department Stores like Clinique, Shiseido, Perricone MD, Philosophy, etc...etc...etc...

One ingredient, that is very familiar is " Hydroquinone " and it "BLEACHES" the skin, and the FDA has bannned it in it's "pure" form, but it can still sold over the counter. Hydroquinone Bleaches " the skin. At the moment, the US allows over the counter sales of 2% hydroquinone cream, but 4% hydroquinone cream requires a prescription.

The most popular ingredients that I have been coming across several times are high concentrations and variations of Vitamin C. Ascorbic Acid is safe, but these are different forms of Vitamin C that DO INHIBIT THE PRODUCTION OF MELANIN... ( Ascorbyl Glucoside, Sodium Ascorbate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Sodium Ascrobyl Phosphate, Ascorbyl Palmitate ), ALL of these ingredients are excellent anti-oxidants and can be found with other popular ingredients in High End products and moisturizers such as Licorice extract , Niaminicide ( Vitamin B3 ), Kojic Acid, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Reservatrol, DMAE, Glutathione etc...

I also came to the conclusion that these ingredients are very popular in " Anti Aging " moisturizers, eye creams, etc...

I just thought I would bring this to your attention, especially if you use any products, and most of them are anti-aging moisturizers, but still just regular facial moisturizers may contain some of these ingredients because these ingredients are also strong anti-oxidants. If there is an ingredient you arenot sure about in your facial moisturizer, well I had found out by going to " Google.com " and, as an example, this is how I would type this in the search box..." Glutathione in skin care and its effect on the production of melanin " and there would be pages realted to this and it is easy to see your answer because the ingredient , in this case " Glutathione" and " Melanin Production" would be in bold case letters.

I do use an anti-aging facial moisturizer and an anti-aging Eye Cream that has a few of these ingredients in it and I really like the way they make my face feel, and also the way they do help my facial skin to look healthy and the fine lines around my eyes are slowly going away, but before I go tanning, I wash my face with soap and water, then I pat it dry and then apply my Indoor Tanning Lotion to keep my face moisturized and then I'll go tanning. If I used an Indoor Tanning Lotion that has DHA Bronzers in it, I wait at least 4 hours before I bathe and then I apply my facial moisturizer and eye cream, but I always wash my face before I go tanning to wash away any of the moisturizer that could still be on the top layers of my skin, and then put on an Indoor tanning lotion and it has NOT effected the way my face tans, I still get a nice tan on my face that is even with the tan I have on the rest of my body.

Thank you for taking the time to read this...I hope this info might be of help to at least 1 person if not more.

I haven't posted anything or seen any of you in a while, and since it is the middle of January, I STILL would like to wish you ALL a very Safe, Healthy, Happy New Year !!!

Happy Tanning !!!
