Rep Power: 0 | prickly, itchy..help!! i have been tannning for about two weeks now and the past couple of sessions i break out in a rash that itches realy bad! it drives me crazy! ive stopped using my lotion (austrain gold accelerator plus bronzer). thinking that might help but it hasnt(now ive been putting on baby lotion an hour or so before i go).and while i am in the bed it feels like pins poking me so i get out early. the lady who works there put me in a higher level bed for 10 min and it still happens. she suggested it could be the cleaner they use on the bed but the reaction is on the front of my body and i lay on my back.. so i cut that out. I dont know what to do i realy would like to tan but i dont know if this is worth it i cant fall asleep at night! if anyone could help me that would be great! thank you... |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: prickly, itchy..help!! sounds like too much too fast or what ^^^^ he said. Consider buying a salon grade moisturizer to use after tanning and showers. Don't stop using your lotion, even though I would consider getting something a little better quality than that one. Oh, and take a day or two off and give your skin a rest. |

A heat rash is a very common issue amongst tanners. It's known to cause red/pink rash, little white bumps and itching that can sometimes be severe. The best way to get rid of it is use a really good moisturizer , I use pure Cocoa Butter, and only tan every other day or every other 2 days. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: prickly, itchy..help!! I have tanned for years, and the past 3 or so I started developing this itchy horribly annoying rash! Has kept me up all night before. I only have gotten it when I start tanning for first time at the beginning of the season. I have found out if I start tanning extra slow like 5 minutes or less, and keep it at that time for 3 to 4 times, them move time up by 1 to 2 minute interals. And make sure to not move up time til I am sure I am having no reaction. And for first few times, I take ibuprofen after tanning to make sure I don't have any inflammation or burning from bed. Always use good lotion with high moisture content in it, and use a lotion afterwards too. Nothing with fragrance after. If you do get reaction, use hydrocortisone cream and rub it everywhere, it helps, so does aloe, not green stuff has to be clear no fragrance. The ibuprofen helps after any sun exposure, if you think you had too much sun take some and it can help lesson the burn. Hope this helps! |
