Rep Power: 0 | Weird speckling I am in need of help!!! I have been tanning for the past month...and everywhere on my body has tanned evenly, except my legs. They look severly speckled, almost like freckles. Some spots are really dark, and some look like they have not tanned at all. It's getting very noticeable and I don't know what to do to fix it, or what is causing it. I exfoliate every time I shower, and always moisterize afterwards. I have been using Designer Skins Roar lotion, if that helps at all. Here's a picture of it...in real life the speckles are a LOT darker though. |

Rep Power: 16 | Re: Weird speckling Your skin is on DHA overload and the fact that you are exfoliating daily isn't helping. All the bronzers are doing is giving you an extra boost of color that your not getting from the beds. DHA is also drying to the skin. Since you like a lotion with a tingle- get one without a bronzer/DHA.

Re: Weird speckling Agree. You need to let your skin completely exfoliate those layers...about a month. Do not use any bronzers or DHA during that time. If you are tanning then use something with NO DHA/Bronzers in it at all for a month. It is just uneven DHA build up and you need a clean slate. | |

I have it on my chest and neck ... treat it with antifungal cream (expensive if doc provides it) you can get over the counter and it works ok, but the best is ugh I even hate to say it, Extra Strength Vagisil. Yes, I rub vagisil on my chest, lol. My instructions from doc are: shower before bed and exfloiate area and around the area really well. Apply cream thickly. Cover the area and area around it. Then sleep withthe area covered, in your case pants. In the morning shower and exfoliate again. You will still have discoloration but the fugus is treated so wait a few days and then get those spots tan. Varies by person but my doc suggests doing this once a month to prevent future outbreaks. :) PS I suggest doing it at night because the cream stinks and is sticky ... Also, this is very common, especailly amoung swimmers, a swim coach would have spooted this immediatly (no punn intended, well maybe a little lol) Hope this helps :) https://health.google.com/health/ref/Tinea+versicolor |
