Quick question I recently started tanning, I've always been a little on the lighter side and started at about 6minutes on a low level bed. I got a little pink but it was gone by the next morning and bronzed in a little, no peeling or itching. I waited about 3 days and went back and added a minute because I didn't want to rush things. I got a little more pink(still not red), but it got very itchy. This time I waited almost a week because it was still itching, I put aloe on and everything, and it didn't peel. I went back and did the same amount of time, this time I didn't get pink, but I'm still itching and now I'm peeling lightly.(it's not bad, just a little flaking on my chest), but the peeling didn't start till after I took a shower. I figured it was some dry skin and put aloe on it. But I'm just wondering if this is normal or if I'm doing something wrong or if there is some alternate advice. Thanks in advance. |
Re: Quick question Lower your time and increase your frequency. If you wait a week you are really starting from scratch again. Sounds like your a skin type II. Are you using a lotion? If not that can often explain the itchiness. For you I would go every three days for the few few session. No need to bump time up each time. Then after 4 sessions start going every other day. Every couple of sessions bump your time up a minute at most. But the salon knows the beds best and can probably help more. But use of lotion, indoor products, is essential to prevent some side effects. |
Re: Quick question Thanks, yes I am using a lotion I'm actually using this: http://www.darkdesirelotion.com/Prod...ctCode=DC-4004 And I only waited a week because it was still itchy so I didn't want to make the problem worse. But I guess I'll wait for the peeling to go away and go back to 6 minutes for a few sessions. Thanks you. |
Re: Quick question Hope you did not buy that online - that could be the problem. Either way, that is a very "dry" lotion. If you have dry skin, I do not recommend it at all. |
Re: Quick question No, that's the one I was given cause it was the only guy's lotion they had(as in, didn't smell flowery). |
Re: Quick question Ok. And I agree, its a good man's lotion. But it may be too dry for your skin. |
