Help me get my tan back PLEASE! Okay so I have been googling and came across this forum and thought if anyone could give good advice it would be you all here. I used to be a tanning junkie! I tanned faithfully from the age of 15 up to 22. I stopped tanning for about 2 years and am now 24 years old pale and have an uneven skin tone and have struggled with adult acne since I stopped! I never had these problems while tanning and all came about once I stopped. I want to get back into tanning and have gone here and there but seem to be discouraged by the lack of immediate results. I had been so dark that now when I go I just don't seem to get dark enough quick enough to be pleased. I am hoping tanning again and getting that deep dark color will atleast hide the uneven skin tone and ride some of the acne. Can you all help me with some advice to get tan as quick as possible....I miss my color and it just seems to take so long to get back to that --- I guess I can't get 7 year results over night but I'd like to speed it up if at all possible. I used to use bronzers, tinglers ect but I don't think I can jump right into a lotion like that, I do not want to use a product that worked well on super dark skin but will not leave me orange and streaked. Can any give some advice and reccomend a lotion that will help me out??? Are there any bronzers that will not leave streaking ect? Thanks! |
Re: Help me get my tan back PLEASE! These are really questions for your salon professional. We really can't and should not make internet skin type decisions. It is easy to suggest a random product, but out of fairness it is better to do that with you in front of us. I will suggest that if you are not getting satisfaction from your current salon then shop around. The right one will set your tanning schedule for your skin type and suggest an appropriate product that best suits you. Plus help you to figure out any road blocks to you getting the desired color (medications, body chemistry changes as we get older as an example) You will know the right one when you find it. Best Wishes! |

Thanks anyways |
Re: Help me get my tan back PLEASE! I agree, being snooty is not really what this site is about. Do something better with your time if all you want to do is pester someone who has a genuine interest in tanning. To answer some of your questions, the lotions today are much better than they were a few years back. The streaky and orange problems have mostly gone away if you are using one of the high-end lotions like Designer Skin, AG, Devoted Creations etc. Are you going to the same salon? It is possible that the salon owner has neglected to change their lamps. If you aren't seeing the results you want to be seeing then maybe its time to try a different salon and different equipment. Make sure you are mixing up the tanning booths and tanning beds that you use since each contains different combinations of UVA and UVB. |
Re: Help me get my tan back PLEASE! ugh. is this forums just filled with rude people? anyways, mypitsthelife, i hope you find what ur looking for. i still haven't found the right lotion for me. i wish there was ds black over here, i used to use that when i was back in the states, and it worked great! |
Re: Help me get my tan back PLEASE! I can help you minus the 'tude as I also tan to even skin tone and clear acne. First off, NEVER LOSE YOUR BASE TAN. If you want to cut back, cut back to minimum 2 times a month. Then, when you need to hit it to clear up the acne you won't burn ***. Nevermind the I NEED TO GET BLACK nonsense. Just go more often if you want to kick it up a knotch. As for tanning lotion, just buy a pack of random lotion samples. The more you mix it up the better off you are. The heavier the lotion/bronzers the worse it will be for skin issues. As for spray tan, NEVER. JUNK. BREAK OUT CITY. Only the retarded do spray tanning (not that being retarded is bad, just retarded) |

Spray tanning actually is not "JUNK" as you say. I don't know where or how you got it done but they must have used a cheap product. As for it looking "retarded" which is the wrong term to use you must be referring to the fact someone was to lazy to take it off correctly. Spray tanning is based on exfoliation the skin. Which if you knew anything about spray tanning you'd know this. It is actually good for the skin it can train the pours to take products better. Norvell makes a great spray tan solution and it goes on very nicely. I am a trained technician and do about 30 spray tans a week and have never seen someone look like junk, as you say. Also it is a great solution for people that don't want to hurt their skin with excessive tanning. So give it a try. your first time lasts the shortest because you aren't used to having it on and moisturizing is key! Good luck and I hope your having a better time with it! |
