Tanning after Plastic Surgery (Anyone have experience)

Hey guys! I haven't been on here in FOREVER.

So next week I am getting my nose done. I talked to the DR about tanning and to my surprise he wasn't too concerned about it. He basically just said wait about a month and don't burn your nose.

So I am thinking I go to a Sun Tan City and they offer the "instant beds" which are a lot harder to burn in.

Do you think it will be safe to start using those beds in a couple weeks instead of using the regular beds and globbing sunscreen on my nose? I don't want to risk burning my nose in a regular bed and I also don't want my nose to be lighter than the rest of me!

Anyone have any thoughts? Suggestions?

TIA <3

I would suggest you follow the surgeons recommendation. Wait a month to be safe. You would hate to go bak for additional work if for some reason it does not heal up just right.

I would just get a spray tan while you're waiting to be a month out of surgery.

I thought about this. I have never spray tanned before! The place I go to has VersSpa and I am a little scared to try it. Does it come in different depths of color?

You should be able to have then control the output of the solution. And the Versa Spa is one of the better ones from what I read around here.

We have a versa spa in our salon and our clients love it. You get to choose the color from a light, natural, or dark spray. But i would wait on the actual tanning beds in case there are any scars because the light might darken them.

If I use the darker spray am I more likely to turn orange?

Why not just buy something like the tan facia and block the UV light and then just wear makeup or bronzer until you can tan again

^^Yep.

Women I know who have had their breasts done, have been instructed to cover those areas until the healing process is done.

That's a good idea. If you get sprayed, I would get an aibrush tan (by a person, not a booth)- are you allowed to have your face sprayed? Is there any scarring or anything that shouldn't get solution on it? If so, the airbrush would be better because you can skip have your face sprayed. Good luck!
