** 1st Time in Tanning Bed! AH! Help! **

Whatsup everyone,

I have never used a tanning bed before (only natural sunlight on ocassion). My goal is to get tan before I go on vacation so I don't burn up when I'm poolside!

Here is my skin type:
Fairly Sensitive Skin that sunburns, then turns darker.
I usually get the "farmer's tan" in the summer because I usually work outside with my shirt on. However, I have never actually tried to "tan" consistently.

Is there hope for my "pasty" torso and upper arms? LOL

My upper arms and torso are pretty pale, so my basic questions are:

#1. What bed should I use and how long?
#2. Do I use and sunscreen or tanning lotion (If so, what do you recommend)?
#3. How many times in the tanning bed before I notice a change in skin tone?

Thanks for all of your help!

Your salon can help you out A LOT.

But start basic if you want. Get used to its a little before exploring other beds. Tanning lotion, never use a sunscreen indoors. In fact it will likely live the bed a mess. Use INDOOR tanning lotion only and not that Wal-Mart crap.

The number of times to color varies. For you maybe 10 to 12 sessions to maximize. 4 sessions you should start seeing a decent change. Its a curve, starts slow and them build up faster and faster.

DO NOT BURN. There is NO such thing as burning a little first then getting a tan. Burning is the worst thing you can do.

Also mention to the salon its your first time tanning, they will want to know that.

Going today. Kinda nervous. Any tips? just so i dont feel like an idiot walking in there for the first time! I have lightly tanned skin-kindof fair. i want a really good base and a healthy glow. I know it's bad so dont comment on it. I'm not gonna be a huge addict. Thanks in advance!

What the **** are you talking about? You know it's bad? What? That you are making something out of nothing?

Go in the tanning bed and get on with life for Christ sakes.
