Rep Power: 0 | New - Need help/information! Hi, So my mother bought a tanning bed from an ex-tanning salon owner. However, we never went to a tanning salon. Ever. We obviously know nothing about tanning and I know my mom isn't the kind of person who will get information about it. She thinks she's gonna take off her clothes and get in and thats's it. You know, I don't want her to destroy her skin Also, I want to try it out too (why not? ). First of all, my mom's skin is kind of medium and it tans really easily. I don't recall her getting a sunburn and she never puts SPF. People sometimes ask her if she's indian! Hahaha. By the way, she's 45 (46 in less than a month ). Anyway, in my case, I have light skin. That's my foundation if that helps (it's called Classic Ivory) : I have some freckles on my nose, cheeks and on my upper lip. But I LOVE them, so I don't care if they go darker like they normally do in the sunlight . I'm 17. I don't have any details about the tanning bed (we don't have it yet), except that the bulbs have just been changed for 1000 hours of use. - How long approximately should we stay in the tanning bed? - How frequently should we go to keep the tan we achieved? - Can we put normal moisturizer before and/or after tanning, or do we need a special tanning lotion? - How many times do we have to apply it? - Where can we buy tanning lotions and the weird goggles? Any more informations and advices would be cool. Thank you! P.S. : I'm a French speaker. Forgive my mistakes |

I agree with eileen, you need to speak to someone at a salon to assess your skin type, recommend lotions and make sure you take the information about your tanning bed and the lamps in them, so they may recommend a tanning schedule for you. If you jump in not knowing, you will do more damage than good. I also think you may need some product education if you have never done this before. |
