Another Burn Question

Hi All,

I went back to the solarium recently after a 10 year + break to color up for my upcoming holiday. As it is summer here in Australia, I have got some color on my arms, face & feet (go figure). I am a type II and get good color, just need some time to work on it.

The salon skin typed me and suggested I go into a 10 min bed for 8 mins. No lotion or sunscreen. The bottom tubes were 160W, not sure about the top. My stomach and the tops of my thighs sizzled....

Fast forward to a few days ago. My burn healed so I tried a different salon and went in for 5 mins only. The beds are all 160W on the bottom & 140W on the top, no weaker beds. I got burned on my back.

What is going on?

Re: Another Burn Question

Whats going on? Geez, 8 min in 10 min and people wonder why the Australian tanning market is practically gone.

Ok, done venting...

First you should never need to use a sunscreen with indoor tanning unless you are protecting specific areas.

Whats going on though is that you burned the first time and you may not have let it heal fully. And second, what was the max time of the second bed you went in?

And are you on ANY medications?

Also keep in mind that 10 years ago your body was very different, it may be changes that are making you much more sensitive. But that first session still sounds too long.
