Re: Please Help

Why do I have have feeling you go to a hair salon that happens to have a couple beds? :)
Well I hope I am wrong. But either way I say try another salon if you have not.

What lotions do you use both after showering and right before tanning?

There are conditions that can cause one to lose pigment.

Re: Please Help

If you have overly dry skin it can inhibit your ability to tan. Dry skin will not accept UV light as moist supple skin will. Your surface layer of skin will be thicker and harder for the UV light to penetrate and will ultimately reflect instead of absorbing. You will notice a darker tan and a longer lasting tan with healthier skin.

Are you on medications? Medications can interfere with tanning as well.

What kind of tanning lotion are you using? A quality tanning lotion will help you develop a quality tan.

If none of these could be the culprit, try another salon. It may be that the salon is not maintaining their equipment as they should.

Re: Please Help

thanks for replying guys

no it is a taning salon in use, i dont use lotions as i could devolop a deep tan in the past whith out them. i just seem not to pick th tan up as easily any more. my skin isnt overly dry but i dont moisturize think that is the most plausable explanation. are lotion really that important?

ps thanks for the good advice guys

Re: Please Help

I ask clients if they use shampoo to wash their hair. The response is always yes.

I then ask why they do? They give me the "deer in headlight" look. I explain that shampoo is like lotion. With shampoo your hair gets much cleaner and as with shampoos and lotion the better the product the better the results and benefits. For example a good shampoo will not cause split ends. It will retain colored hair longer. It will also reduce breakage.

So with lotions you will get much darker. It will last longer and the benefits will be a better skin. You would be surprised how much your skin dries out just from one tanning session.

The right tool for the right job. If you go tanning you need an indoor tanning lotion. Its not just about getting you darker, its about the skin care. With shampoo its not all about getting your hair clean, its about keeping your hair healthy.

In short, lotion is very important.

Re: Please Help

Your salon should do that. You can smell, feel and pick out one they have. I always have recommendations but I dont recommend blindly.

Again, its like picking out a shampoo.
