Rep Power: 0 | Weird Burn PLEASE HELP Hello All, This is my first time here and i read some of the posting and founf everyone to be very infomative. Here is my situation. I do tan sometimes. Normally when i have an occasion coming up. i and pale. Casper with a little tint lol. Well I use two tannig stores. One is very good that i love the people there and i always get good color. Sometime I do feel very dry and end up a little red after but NEVER burned! The other i go to because its right down the road from my house if i am pressed for time. Well the first time i went there is a while was wed afternoon i used what the girl told me was the lowest stand up. I was in there for about 6-8 min. I started to feel a little "hot" so i stepped out. I did not get burned a little red. Now from what i have been told you shoudl always wait at least 48 hours if not more to go to the next session. So i went friday (Yesterday) The girl was not there and there was a guy. He put me in the same stand up. I was in there for about 9 min and started to feel a little "hot" so i got out. I felt a little hot on my drive home so one i got hom i took a cool shower. Today i am burned. Its not painfull but itchy and i know well enought not to scrath it! What weird id that im only burned on the top on my arm, not my shoulders. VERY little redness on my chest and neck and my hips are also burned. I have gotted burned before in the past but on my butt, back shoulder and legs. Thats when i used to lay down. I dont do that anymore. Please let me know what i can do to have it STOP ITCHING!!!!!! and get rid of a little of the redness! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Weird Burn PLEASE HELP Tina, the problem I see reading your post, is that you just like many customers I have are in a rush to get a tan faster than their body can produce it. They think that in order to get their "money's worth" they need to go for longer than they can actually handle. That is wrong and any salon that allows you to do so should be shut down, because it's idiots like that, that have given this industry a bad name and negative press. Try this. Look into the standup you use. There should be exposute times posted in there somewhere. I don't know the unit you have been using, of the lamps it has so I cant reccomend an exposure time for you. In my standup I would start someone with the skin type you described with 3 minutes. I would reccomend the schedule below and knowing my equipment and lamps I can guarantee best results. WEEK 1 : Monday 3 min. Wednesday 3 min. Friday 3 min. WEEK 2 : Monday 4 min. Wednesday 4 min. Friday 4 min. WEEK 3 : Monday 5 min. Wednesday 5 min. Friday 5 min. WEEK 4 : Monday 6 min. Wednesday 6 min. Friday 6 min. Follow up maint. sessions 7 minutes once or twice a week. I would use a lotion ALLWAYS and because of your complection something with a light bronzer, and a skin care tan extender bought from your salon used daily especialy in the morning after you come out of the shower.Keep in mind...tanning without using lotion is like brushing your teeth without using toothpaste. Get the point? Customers of mine who by the sounds of it match your skin type have done this with me and NEVER EVER had problems with overexposure or skin damage. In the mean time, stop tanning till all sensitivity and reddness is gone. |
