Rep Power: 0 | Skin is fine after tanning but greasy 4 days after I've had a good read through some of the posts here and I'm running out of ideas to try and help my skin. I've always suffered from quite irregular skin, sometimes it feels dry yet I can get spots and greasy patches so treating it has always been hard. One thing I noticed was how nice my skin was when I was on holiday in really hot places (holiday in sunny Africa, great - back in rainy UK not so great). So I decided to give a standup tanning session a try once a week and I was stunned at how nice it made my skin feel. Problems really started when I skipped a few weeks, my skin and spots came back just as bad as before and I'm starting to feel I'm going to be visiting the salon for the rest of my life. I visit once a week and go on for 9 minutes, my tan is not over the top but I hold a nice bit of colour for 4-5 days. As the tan starts to fade my spots return, my week is generally.... Tanning on a Thursday night. Friday - Wonderful skin, nice colour feel like a different person. Saturday - Same Sunday - Same Monday - Tan starts to fade Tuesday - Spots Start to return Wednesday - Bad Skin and spots Thursday - Feel and look awful, can't wait to tan. Although I'm not usually one to complain, it's not nice as a 29 year old man to feel I'm fighting spots like a teenager would. They only appear in 3 places, one in the crease of my chin, and two places on my top lip, left and right. They are quite small white spots but very hard. Now comes the battle I've had with skin care. I've tried just about everything, this week I bought some (what's meant to be the best) cleanser and toner to see if it would help and it made it worse like most treatments I've tried. I tried some abrasive oxy pads which made my spots 10x as worse as what they were. I've tried washing with only water for a few weeks, the only thing that works to a certain extent is Roc Apricot face scrub that has the small rocks in... Also one major thing is I have to shave every night, if I don't shave and have any growth I get grease that actually weeps through the skin and settles on the surface, it can almost look like dry skin and I've made the mistake many years ago of treating it for dry skin until I realized it was actually grease seeping through to the surface. I know the usual skin issues that can be effective to the skin, ie, I'm very healthy, I exercise every night, eat fruit and veg, take vitamins, drink lots of water etc. The strange thing is, this problem is no where else I have perfect skin on my forehead, cheeks, nose etc. It's just in the 2 small positions in the crease of my chin and top lip. I've got to the point today where I'm thinking of purchasing a home tanning machine for my face... Just to use through the bad periods of Wednesday and Thursday. Are they any good, will it help? Is it a poor substitute for a real tanning bed? Could that little boost in the week help me? I really wanted to ask any professionals their opinion as I don't want to spend £50 on something that is a waste of time and any feedback on my skin may also help me. Thanks for listening I hope I haven't bored you too much I wanted to give as many details as I could in the hope that somebody may have some advise. |
