I am so depressed and upset because of this condition.
i have been treating it for the past 6 weeks. i feel like i am getting new spots all the time!
I have been using the selsun blue for 2 weeks straight..then i stopped coz my skin was getting too dry. before that i using the nizoral cream for about 10 days. i just give up! i dont even know if i have it anymore. i have dry skin and i dont know if its scales of the fungi or not? i went to the derm she told me about 3 weeks ago that i had no activ fungi and told me to use selsun blue 3 times a week which i did.
i feel like they are getting worse. i am getting married in NOV and i want my arms to look nice. i am going overseas in 3 weeks and i was hoping to go in the sun...any advice

I have read them all to be honest, but i just dont know if i still have it or not? thats my question. how do u know??i am going to the derm tomorrow to see if he can shed some light?

i saw his under study last time but now i am seeing the major derm

They got a pill you can take and it's supposedly no joking around. Wipes it out real fast but it wipes EVERYTHING out even the good bacteria but it's only like 1-3pills.

I might have just made that whole thing up.

He's going to ask you if you have been tanning and then say you caught it from the tanning bed which is not true.

Watch. They are idiots cause they know that's not true but just want to scare you.

I went to the derma yesterday and he had a look under the light to see if i had any active tinea. It is not active at the moment. He told me to use nizoral shampoo twice a week for maintance. He said if it gets scaley again use Lamisil cream.

My skin looks horrible espcially my left arm. It looks worse ever since i treated it! i hope that is normal.

Engfant how long does it take for your skin to get back to normal?
I asked the derma if i can go in the sun and he said its up to, it could be good to get the sun on the white bits to make it start producing melanin again or it may stay discolour for a while. he didnt give me much hope in the matter.

im going to tahiti for work in 3 weeks and how can i not be in the sun!

I'd start tanning again. Just use the Nizoral everyday. That uglyness will fade as you tan the area just watch out cause that area is "PALE" and will burn if you max it up.

thanks heaps for your thoughts, every time i wash with the shampoo the spots seem to look worse and bigger.

Its winter here in australia, so i am going to wait until i get to tahiti!

i really hope my skin goes back to looking normal. i am so scared of tanning now, i use to be a tan freak.

So you think tanning in tahiti is safe? i just bought the nizoral shampoo today i have been using selsun again the past few days and i notice my skin gets dry and looks like i have tinea again!

i am getting married in NOV and i just dont want to have this on my arms i guess. i am just letting it get to me too much.

when u used to wash with the shampoo did u notice that you had more spots or they got bigger and whiteR?? i dont know if i am being paranoid or not
