Does anyone get razor bumps after tanning & shaving?

Tanning has always irritated the neck area of my beard hair... it's all fine until the next day when I shave. I have never figured out a solution to this in all these years... and most people don't have this problem so I gave up asking. I use lotion (saving face for a while, lately CT7) for my face & this area, but it doesn't help. I shave w/ warm water, in the shower, with aveno shave gel and a 5 blade razor and that doesn't help either. I have to use pure zinc on the area when I tan & then I sort of end up with a white spot but it gets camoflauged...still, i'd like a better solution.

Oh and tendskin burns the crap out of my skin. I tried the "MiN New York" roll on but it smells really bad and burns...and doesn't really work.

The shaving bumps are not from tanning. What is happening is the 5 blade razor you are using. I had the same problem untilI went back to the mach 3 blade.

The hair is getting pulled up then cut off and the remaining hair goes down below the upper layer of skin. When that happens, the result is an ingrown hair. If you look closely at the bump, you will notice there is a hair just under the surface.

Switch razors and try Nivea for men after shave for sensitive skin.

Mach 3 is the best bet. Never have a problem.

I guess I meant it only happens after tanning. I was out of the sun/beds in the last few mos so I never had a problem. As soon as I started again, it came right back. I think it irritates my skin just in that specific area in the same way as someone w/ rosacea. Dermatologists just say its pseudofoliculitis and of course, "stay out of the sun" -- so not much help from them.

I've tried the mach 3 too but they all seem to do it. The 5 blade is the Gillette fusion which I just like the best bc I get a 5'oclock shadow at noon if I use smaller razors. But, everything except growing a beard causes the problem.

I think I'm just stuck with this. I think beds with more UVB do it worse than UVA beds...but I haven't totally figured it out yet. It could just be the heat.

Don't tan your face more then a few minutes and stop putting so much junk of your face. Go buy some pure organic coconut butter...with organic red tea if you can find it.

Yes, very common ailment for many people of all skin types. Bump Down is a great lotion that helps vanish razor bumps and redness from ingrown hairs and shaving irritation...fantastic product...heavily urge a try of it.
