White Spots on the side of face
 

Hey everyone,

I recently noticed these white spots on the side of my face,which look like a skin discolouration ..they're not distinctly "white" but you can notice then from up close ..they don't itch or anything,but seem to be spreading a little more . I was wondering if anyone else experienced such a thing?im thinking it may be Tinea versicolor??..does anyone know of any cures to get rid of this problem?

I googled and I heard people mention Lamasil foot cream and I also heard of selsun blue extra strength,I recently purchased a cream by the name of Cenesta ..and I have selsun blue but not the extra strength one,could any of these possibly do the trick?Thanx in advance!

Besides seeing a specialist, all I can say is try the remedies. If you see a change your on the right path. 2 weeks of Selsum Blue seems to work well. Let it on the skin for several minutes and use it on your entire body.

Nope..never heard of that product "Nizorel"...but i also noticed some of the threads mentioning "Denerox" ..I live in Toronto,Canada ..so a lot of these products aren't as easily offerd as they would be in the states.But Im aware of selsun blue ..which i have but not the extra strength one..any other suggestions?

Most people here are going to tell you Nizoral works the best from experience. :)

About Nizoral for those of you who have used it..I tried selsun blue a couple times and what I've found is it really dried out my skin...Does Nizoral do this too?

I don't know if the Nizoral works or not I have had a customer use Hault and Selsun Blue and is still having problem actually getting worse!

right. Cause those DO NOT WORK.

Only NIZORAL and DENNOREX 2.5% COAL TAR work....NIZORAL being 10000% better.

HAS TO BE USED EVERYDAY. HAS TO BE TOTAL COVERAGE OF THE BODY. HAS TO SIT FOR A COUPLE MINUTES.

Hey Engfant, just bought myself a bottle of that Nizoral stuff ..I just have the white spots on my face nowhere else so just apply it all over the face let it sit for couple mins then wash off.. Can I use a moisturizer after ?and how often should I use Nizoral daily?(once?twice?) and for two weeks right? Thanx

No doubt NIZORAL is excellent treatment for white spots. But I recently study that there is not when skin condition that causes white spots on skin. Most of the condition are the depigmentation problems of skin. Depigmentation means loss of pigmentation of skin.
Most of the people realized by mistaken that white spots appear due to the tanning. It is not right. Actually in white skin people, white spots can not be observed easily due to the similar complexion of skin. After tanning when white coloration of skin turn into darken then due to the difference of coloration such white spots can be observed easily. And hence by mistake feel outcome of tanning whereas these white spots were present before tanning.
Another important thing regarding the treatment of white spots, diagnosis of actual skin condition that causes white spots is also important. Because there are many skin condition that causes such white spots as I read on www.vitiligoguide.com/white-spots-on-skin/

I have sun spots (loss of melanin in skin) when I tan mostly on my back and some on my face by my jaw line... At some salons they sell lotions in small bottles that are specifically for discoloration with tanning. I have a bottle myself but it is at home. I will get back to you tomorrow with the name. It works really well!

I have that exact same problem
i woke up this morning without tanning for two weeks
and i have white spots on the side of my face
i dont know what to do.

OK, revisiting this: I have a customer with white spots on her stomach. She just started tanning a couple of months ago. It's only on her stomach and looks almost like a rash but isn't raised at all - almost uniformly circular, approximately dime sized - maybe 10 over her stomach with some interlapping. I suggested she make a visit to her dermo but I suspect she won't (18 year olds never seem to think anything's wrong........).
