proactive and sunspots? i have been tanning for years, but recently started to notice that my parts of my forehead dont tan, same thing with my neck and upper jaw area. i use proactive on my face, but very rarely. can this cause skin bleaching? what can i do to fix this splotchiness?!?! |
Re: proactive and sunspots? I've used Proactiv for about 2 1/2 years and I've noticed that my face no longer tans like it did before I ever used their products. According to Proactiv, the product doesn't "bleach" your skin, but I kind of question that. It contains benzoyl peroxide and you probably know as well as I do how it bleaches everything else it comes in contact with...clothing, towels, etc. I started to notice my hairline becoming lighter and lighter. I have dark hair and dark brows and I just recently noticed a few eyebrow hairs that appeared to be lighter. Upon closer inspection, I realized they were bleached out...they had that nice orange color that the hair on my head goes if I bleach it out. The only thing I can suggest is maybe stop using it for awhile and see if it makes a difference. If it does, then it probably has something to do with the product. |
Re: proactive and sunspots? i agree- i use currently use proactive and from time to time switch around. i have noticed that my face does not hold color-the same if not worse with a spray tan. whenever i spray my face, i try to only use a very mild cleanser on my face, because i know-no matter what label says, my face is going to fade 5x faster than usual with acne medicated cleansers. i really like the proactive product and feel it really helps my skin. just wish i knew how to keep the color on my face and not down the drain. |
