Should I use seperate moisturizing lotion after tanning or is tanning lotion enough?

Recently I heard that you should always moisturize and use a lotion after tanning. Is this true or not? Does this really help to prolong and enhance your tan even if it is a normal lotion? I have been tanning off and on for about 2 years and I have always used Designer Skin tanning lotions, which seem to be really great for my skin as well as get me tan.

It just seems to me that it would almost me overkill to lotion up, tan, and then apply even more lotion directly after tanning. Should I shower first?

I've never had really dry skin, but I tan almost every other day or every 2 days.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You should mosturize everyday and especially after showering.

I exfoliate the days I'm going to tan. I use a good moisturizer everytime after I shower. You want a good moisturized not to just keep your skin from drying out but to repair dna damage. There are some very good ones you want to look for they should have caffeine, green tea, grape seed extract and I'm told theraplexan.

I always recommend lotion after a tan... however if your current program is working great for you then by all means stay with it!! Something with vit. E.D.A. is great as well as vit. C is good for repairing the skin.

The best after tan moisturizer I've found is Maximum Hydration Lotion by Nutra Labs Inc. It used to be a part of the Glimra Line.

Nothing with Mineral oil, petroleum or Vaseline. These will strip your tan, prevent you from tanning, and increase the aging process.

No, you do not need to put on lotion right after tanning. Your tanning lotion is moisturizing enough. After you shower I would moisturize.
