OK not all of my clients have skin problems. I swear!!!! I'm glad they trust me enough to ask me about what is going on with their skin though.

This client is a female that is getting a heat rash type of thing on the tops of her thighs, and only the tops of her thighs no where else.

I asked her all the questions, new meds, new detergent, new lotion, laying on your front, allergies to sunlight, ever had problem before, any hormone changes, shaving, everything...

Still all of the answers were NO.

She says after she has tanned she gets in the car and on her way home the tops of her thighs start itching. She says that she also gets little red bumps to go along with the itching. She says the itching is extremely bad, almost painful and keeps her up at night.

She started out very slow in the 20 minute bed and has only reached 10 minutes. She never gets this sort of problem outside, nor has she had it before from tanning beds.

Any suggestions or help please!!!

Ive had that problem before. Tell her not to scratch because once you start it just keeps getting worse and worse. Tell her to put on some lotion after she gets out it will stop the itching. It did for me anyways and I use designer skin angel daily moisturizer.

It's a possibility she may have scabies. It's very easy to get-you can get it by shaking hands with someone. Some people it starts on the hands, wrists, some it starts on the legs, thighs.
When she tans it aggrevates the mites under the skin and can keep you up at night scratching. She should ask her doctor for elimite cream-apply it ALL OVER HER BODY-CHIN TO TOES. Go to bed with it on and get up the next am wash it off and repeat one time in 7 days.
In the meantime wash EVERYTHING. Clean your beds well - as I'm sure you do.
I'm not saying this is what it is-but it sounds like it.

This happens in people that INSIST on doing things the MUTHA F'N HARD WAY and tan ONLY when they are leaving and SLACK on it.

Let's see, she's BONE WHITE, came in looking for a tan in the next few weeks.

Some people just have bad skin unfortunately and may take MONTHS to get a base tan. Might have to start her at 3 min a day and work with her.

That's why PEOPLE ARE SO GOD DAM STUPID AND WILL BLAME EVERYONE BUT THE FRIKKIN TV THAT TOLD THEM TO BE SACRED AND FEAR THE SUN RESULTING IN THEM TANNING 100% INCORRECTLY.

Resulting in goofy burns just like this.

only on her upper thighs? she needs to see a dr. Are her thighs BURNT? she maybe one who always has boardshorts on, so her thighs are not use to exposure, that happens to guys alot, if thats not the case she needs to see a DR.

I have found some people are allergic to the plastic in the tanning bed or the cleaning agent used to clean the bed. The itching can be quit annoying. Using a stand up bed seems to be the solution for most itchy tanners. Start out at 4 minutes and increase to 7. SuperSonic type of bed or any stand up bed.
