Ok so I have been tanning for a few days now. Ive tanned about 5 or 6 times total and Im starting to get a good looking tan. Im up to 9 minutes in a 10 minute bed. Also Im a pretty fair skinned person. So Im starting to notice the whole itch thing while Im laying in the tanning bed. It just feels all tingly and itchy and then after I get home and take a shower it gets a little worse but eventually it calms down so I can get some sleep. the lotion I am using is called Iced Creme Accelerator by Australian Gold. It has a bronzer and a coolant in it. After I shower I use Vaseline Intensive care with Aloe. Its a light moisturizing lotion. So yeah anyways Ive got this itchy tingle thing going on on my chest. Thats pretty much the only place it bothers me except for a little bit on the back of my calves where it also has the little red bumps.
So is this just a heat thing? The heat from the bed only seems to irritate it more. I just shelled out 60 bucks for this tanning package plus the lotion and Id really hate to have to stop because I might get this red itchy rash stuff all over my body. My arms, stomach, back, and face all tan just fine with no irritation what so ever. Its just my chest that itches and the back of my legs. So any advice I can get on this would be great. Ive already read alot of the other threads that seem to be the same problem I am having. I think that maybe im gettting to much uv exposure to fast.. I work the night shift and I hardly ever see the sun. My friends were always giving me a hard time about being so white and thats why I decided to start tanning. Im really liking it so far and would hate to quit so is there a solution out there for me? Is it possible that my skin will eventually get use to the tanning and the itch and redness will go away. Im more than willing to tough out the itch because I dont wont to be white any more that bad. So if I keep tanning will it just get worse or will I eventually overcome this stuff some how? I appreciate any advice I can get. |

Re: just call me mister itchy
First off, that Iced Creme is as BAD as they come. Horrible mess. That Vaseline is probably just as bad as it contains petroleum which is motor oil's waste product.
The itching is most likely that you are tanning too fast and your chesticles are just sensitive. Take a few days off and start again. Always take a day or two off to allow the tan to develop.

Re: just call me mister itchy
AG???? Gawd. you SHOULD be down with JOETAN lotions but they are too exclusive for the masses just yet.
Honest they all are horrible. Just try some samples of different stuff till you find something that doesn't make you want to blow chunks. OH MY GOD. That denim and Diamonds by SB is $56!!!!! That stuff might possibly be the biggest pile of CRAP in a bottle! What a scam. I'd feel so bad selling that crap to someone for over $5 that I'd probably have to close shop. For shame AG for shame.

Re: just call me mister itchy
Krashx7, you need to form your own opinion on lotions. Engfant has his opinion and I disagree! I use Denim & Diamonds and I love it! Everyone has their own preference for lotion so you can't go by what others think, you need to try some different ones and decide for yourself!

Re: just call me mister itchy
In general I am not fond of DS, but, after reading post about different problems with sensitive skin problems I tried Sheer Wisdom. Worked for me.............Maybe it might for you. There are other post on here about this problem. Use the search threads..........I think one of the others that was mentioned was Tandooria...Good luck!
