Laser Hair Removal
 

Has anyone had this done before? Do you have to wait a while before tanning again? Just wondering...it would be nice to be able to skip shaving for a while!!!:D

I was thinking about face & bikini area. My problem is that my skin is very sensitive because I use the proactiv system. The last time I got my eyebrows waxed I was puffy & red for a week!

from experience from other clients if you are using any treatment on your face you face will be more sensative.. I would stop taking whatver you are using at lest a week prior to your laser treatment.. I also would do this type of treatment in the fall/winter...

FYI..I use a Gentle yag laser.. it has a coolant so you do not feel the hit as much and is less painful... Do some more research and go for some free consultations if you can. PM me pricing when you get it and I can let you know if its reasoonable... Basically my prices are great.. and doctors over charge... Bikini can be around $250 from a doctor.. and full face( lip, chin, sideeburns, neck) can be $400 a treatment .....

What color his your hair... Most, if not all lasers do not work on grey,blonde and some red hair since their is little or no pigment .... So unless your hair is extremely course with that coloring most likley it will not work! Good luck

I have had it done, but burnt badly, the tech who was too new told me it was because I was too tanned. Not worth the money IMO, lol...inquired about "other" areas my first consultation, she said she had to quote by the .......(gulp) inch.

Being "too tanned" would not have made you burn severely. Tanning too much after the fact would. Do your research on this. If a laser is set too high it will do damage, just like a microdermabrasion machine. These levels are set by the tech so there is room for human error. Lets face it, your face is the first thing people look at and you don't want that to scar or blister.

As for the product usage if you are on a medical grade system with retin-A, glycolic acid, salicylic acid or anything like that you will want to be off it for 2 weeks. I usually have my clients use only thier wash from the system and a normal sunscreen until the week before and then they have to totally come off. If you are acne prone 2 weeks can be killer without treatment so this helps eliminate a major breakout.

Proactive is a milder salicylic so stopping a week before would probably be fine. However, you know your skin better than anyone so if you are more sensitive take the two weeks. Better safe than sorry. Just be aware, Proavtive is notorious for... and I hear it from my clients all the time, "As soon as I stopped using it, my face went back to the way it was before". So don't freak if this happens, just wait a few days and start back on your normal routine.

Your consult should be able to answer all of your questions regarding these issues. If it doesn't, go somewhere else. You don't want them touching your face.
