Re: Steroids and skin care.......

you know what's funny? How everyone just makes up the point of this thread. This thread is NOT a dig at steroids. Not a DOWNER on steroids. ANYTHING can be fine if used properly.

This thread is about BODY ACNE and HOW TO GET RID OF IT.

If you know the cause, then you know the answer. The end.

Re: Steroids and skin care.......

I dated a guy who did steroids....

Same problem with the Acne.... and it was not very attractive let me tell you... and it leads to other um, less desirable side effects as well.... Steroids can hurt your ego more than boost it.

Re: Steroids and skin care.......

Mike Jones, I do not belive he was asking the cause of his acne, but rather how he can best deal with it givin his life-style choices.

What ever the case, I wish Stone well (remember their are limits).

Mike Jones, when are ya gonna drop another hit? I need some deep south bass.

BTW, I do not encourage nor endorse the use of steroids.

For the record. I have not a doubt that many of you have put way worse things in your body (and I am not necessarily referring to illegal and/or banned substances) Do you drink diet soda?No doubt. I have put a lot of things in my body that, looking back, I wish I hadn't done. I was young and stupid.

When I did my cycles, I went to my Doctor every other week for blood test and a general check up. She did not approve but agreed to help.

Nothing went wrong, because I did it correctly. If it were not illegal maybe more people would do it correctly also.Nothing went wrong because you were lucky, not because you did it right. Cycling is much safer than continuous use, unless you are stacking. I guess, since you had a doctor's help, you weren't doing this. If this young man is cycling, his problem is going to clear up in a few weeks. Right?

And remember all you mud slingers: Even God does not propose to judge a man until the end of days. Not judging or slinging mud, he came here asking for opinions. If he doesn't want to hear what we think, don't ask.

So why would I or this young man do such a thing?

I am 6’2” and at age 22 I weighed 155 pounds. CHICKS DON’T DATE BEAN POLES

I am now 30 and healthy as can be at 220 pounds and 19% body fat. I have not even had a common cold in 6 years. What you eat is what kills most people. Oh yea, my is OK also! Although that one looks concerned.

You think you know about “roids” because you watched a few programs on TV, right?

Well think about this. Most Americans think they will get skin cancer from going in a tanning bed once; because of watching TV :sarcasm:

Are you really educated enough to speak what you speak? I do try to educate myself on many topics. There are 2 categories of steroids. Catabolic and anabolic. The major side effects from using anabolic steroids can include liver tumors and cancer, jaundice (yellowish pigmentation of skin, tissues, and body fluids), fluid retention, high blood pressure, increases in LDL (bad cholesterol), and decreases in HDL (good cholesterol). Other side effects include kidney tumors, severe acne, and trembling. In addition, there are some gender-specific side effects:
  • For men — shrinking of the testicles, reduced sperm count, infertility, baldness, development of breasts, increased risk for prostate cancer.
  • For women — growth of facial hair, male-pattern baldness, changes in or cessation of the menstrual cycle, enlargement of the clitoris, deepened voice.
  • For adolescents — growth halted prematurely through premature skeletal maturation and accelerated puberty changes. This means that adolescents risk remaining short for the remainder of their lives if they take anabolic steroids before the typical adolescent growth spurt.
I wonder when the last time this young man had a physical? Is his cholesterol in check? How about his blood pressure? Is he cycling? Is he stacking? Many people find it hard to quit taking steroids when they start because they like the results and don't want to give them up.

None of this is my business. He asked for a solution to a problem and we told him our opinion. And in all fairness, it depends on what he is taking and how much he is taking as to how dangerous it is.

Or is it like a Dermatologist talking about tanning beds. Possibly increased risk of skin cancer. I will take that over shrinking nuts and kidney failure any day.

Stone, Be safe and get checked up regularly. Use a stand-up and get away from Nivia products.

At least I am not a fat slob; the #1cause of rising helath care.

Oh look at me, I want my $35 per hour GM job and want to eat donunts all day when I call in on one of my 14 personal days, and then ****** when jobs start going over seas because of Union pension benifits and RISING HEALTH CARE.?? Where the **** did that come from? Maybe you would like to start another thread on this topic.

Let's talk about all the porkers walking around in at the ITA show last year. This is costing everyone money, even you and I. At least tan fat looks better than white fat, although it is still just as unhealthy; even more so than "roids" It is a problem. Not going to argue that one.

BTW, I am not saying that anyone who commented on this thead is fat.

Just my $0.02

If you want to take steroids, go for it. Just don't act like you know more than anyone else on the subject or that it is not dangerous.

Re: Steroids and skin care.......

In all fairness, you never really did answer his question. It was not "why" but "what can I do to help"

I think he conveyed well enough that he did not want to stop.

The GM rant was a far throw, I'll give you that. The point was that Americans have no problem killing themselves slowly by over eating and being lazy, but will look down on anyone seeking methods to increase their phyical fitness. Not only does their own fat drain their health, but it drains the economy also. Whereas someone on roids, is (in most cases) just draining themselves, if they do it improperly.

Yes their is a proper way. Remember that it is a prescribed treatment with medical research. This is not a "street drug" it is a medical tool that has drifted into the black market. [that is the scary part]

Case and point: Ephedera. It killed what, less than 50 people(?) (who did not read directions) and 1 or 2 that had a bad reaction and it got pulled from the shelves. But yet we will let millions of people die from being over weight instead. This way they can die slowly, costing tax payers billions and help build the Medical industry gestapo.

BTW, that is the same industry that over exaggerates claims about tanning and steroids.

I belive about 10% of what I read, 40% of what I see, and 100% of my own experiances.

Maybe I did get lucky. Remember; Luck is timing + preparation

Botom line: Roids are not safe, nothing is. Education and moderation should always be your freinds for life.

Sheesh, I was just coming to explain that to YOU. Who cares if he does juice, he was asking about bacne but everyone has to get their panties in a bunch over the mention of steroids.

Of course it's not prescribed and of course he knows the riskes. He wants to be bigger. Whoopdeeedooo.

An oil base steroid is gonna affect your skin. Period. Juice and Tan is what I say.

Have you tried M1T?

Re: Steroids and skin care.......

Oh and Accutane can do more damage than juice. I'll put money on it. And drug that makes a woman agree to taking 2 forms of birth control and agree to abort any pregnancy while on said drug raises a few red flags for me. I know a girl who was on it and it ****s with your joints and everything. It will deplete your joints of fluid. YOu can drink while your on it because it's so hard on your liver.

Juice and Tan.

Re: Steroids and skin care.......

As for brands? Dermalogica, Murad,Dr. Brandt Skincare,PeterThomas Roth, DDF (my bf uses this) and there are many more...

...yes these might be more pricey, but let me tell you..you get what you pay for! Most of these products are highly concentrated, so it will last awhile. As for my opinion on Neutrogena? not good...also it is very important to exfoliate your skin atleast once a week, to remove oil/dirt buildup, you should not be able to see the granuals you exfoliate with, they should be small so they dont rip the pores...or use an acid...if you need any more info pm me!
